afgs are weird to pump with. on something stable like an ar the shape is a benefit. on a slide its good one direction awkward on the other.

seriously though, the extention tube is a giant lever on the end of the mag tube and can bend the tube or break the threads if there isn't a clamp and you hit it wrong

I don't have optics on any of my guns because I downright dislike them but I definitely can understand putting a red dot on a shotgun.
A scope with magnification higher than 4 would be another story.

That's mainly why. Mostly the action bar parts really.

I would go and try to find a old beat up non walmart special 500 with the regular action tube for $150, steal it and drop in on the 88, then throw the pinned on that and either keep it or sell it for what you paid and be up $100.
