Whatever eotech get the green reticle. best for whatever light. Also an eotech with shortest lens housing (like a reflex) it may mean a less durable sight but you'll be able to get the sight on target faster.

There's a lot of red dots on the market with housings as long as a 4x and that means you've got to get a perfect cheek weld immediately to hit a surprise target

Also a laser on a shotgun is a useful tool get green to match the reticle, because green again is good for whatever light.

The best part about that besides price is that AA batteries are easy to find. Its not cr124636u33 or some other fucked up specialty battery. Also you can find lithium rechargeable AA's People love the isotopes but they wear out after a few years.

If you care about getting it matching flat dark meme the exps 3-0 has that as an option.

The 512 is nice because the aa batteries are more common than cr123 and it has a longer life. Also cheaper.
They used to have problems because the battery compartment is in line with recoil which fucked up the contacts, though this has apparently been fixed

Those CR123456789 batteries aren't hard to find, and one can last 5+years with non stop usage. Buy a pack of 10 and you're set for life.

Only in an aimpoint.
In an eotech they wear out quicker, but it depends on how much you shoot. If you only go shooting every month or so expect one to last 1-2 years, if you blast through 2,000 rounds a week expect it to last 6 months or so, but at that point a $1.50 battery will not be a significant expense.

Get an XPS version that takes CR-123 batteries. Those are the most common type of gun accessory battery out there for lights, lasers, etc. The XPS are improved over the legacy AA and N battery models.
