Marines are a dying branch of the military, and are a shit-tier meme. They're lionized by U.S. citizens but the brutal reality is that they have cool uniforms, horrible treatment, and awful job choices. Signing your life away for four or five years, only to get thrown out once they've taken your peak performance from you just isn't worth it.

Go U.S. Army if you want a chance at combat and a real "boots on the ground" military experience, and go Navy if you want to still make a difference but have less of a chance of seeing actual wartime combat face to face with enemies.

ADF is a very impressive military, and Australia overall is fairly cutting edge. They're a solid group to be a part of.

What you have to really consider is, which country do you want to fight with and which countries do you want to fight -against-?
America is heavily targeted and hated. Nobody likes America, at least amongst our enemies. Australia is different, and has more of a neutral base.

Then again, you can't deny that America has a bigger, more powerful, and more destructive military with more potential to protect their holdings and really commit to a war. Americans were born from war and though we're not the BEST at it, Americans are definitely cut out for war. France and the U.K. birthed a murderer nation.

Do you want to keep your dual citizenship? If yes, don't join USMC. They'll make you renounce your Australian citizenship (and nothing of value was lost).
The United States officially does not allow dual citizenship. If you tell a customs officer that you have dual citizenship, they are supposed to hold you until you renounce one of them. Many of them forget that so you might get away with it, but why risk it? Just choose one and don't mention the other one or present documentation about it. It's retarded, but apparently people fuck that up all the time. They'll definitely make you give it up if you join the military.
Source: my brother is DHS and that shit is part of his job. If you want to keep your dual citizenship, don't mention it to US authorities.
