So I have run into a unexpected problem when I wake up from sleep in a stupor by a noise.

I wear glasses and am damned near blind without them. I place them on the bed stand and despite always being in the same place it takes 10-15 seconds each morning to find them.

Now couple this with the fact I have my carry pistol, my mossberg scattergat, and my rifle all on my bedstand my question is this. What the hell do I grab to defend my bed from looting thots? Rifle obviously have penetration and capacity but it requires aiming and is a bit awkward in the confines of a home. Pistol is small and can cover corners more easily but it is only a 9mm. Shotgun is a godamn shotgun. I am comfortable with all 3 but one has to be the superior selection in a home burglary situation.

I have the same issue, minus the multiple guns conundrum. What I find is that red dots have a little mentioned advantage. I have REALLY shitty eyesight without correction (something like 20/700 or something in both eyes) but I find that if I pick up a red dot sight in a dark room I can still put the red blob on the shadowy blur reliably and quickly regardless of whether I am bespectacled or not. At a range of 15 feet tops, it would be hard to miss even with a blurry red dot.

Put a red filter on my 750 lumen light. Now I use it with my eyes adjusted to darkness without going blind. I don't know why I didn't think of this before.

Guys I fucked up installing my first free float handguard and low profile gas block. Basically I installed the BCM gas block without realizing I forgot to put on part of my lock ring. When I went to take the gas block off i stripped the allen head on one off the set screws and had to drill it out.

Am I fucked? Or will it be okay with a single well-torqued, threadlocked set screw? The gas block is also a tight fit and had to be tapped in the last inch with a little hammer.

Lol man, it happens to all of us. My first gas block install didn't survive my first trip to the range. That was the last time I tried using a cheapo clamp-on aluminum gas block.

My biggest gas block fuckup was somehow managing to virtually weld a BCM gas block onto my barrel to the point that extended direct application of a torch and a hammer could not get it off. That gas block is truly bomb proof, but moreso than is even desirable...

Quick question: Is it possible to bend a lower receiver?

I was installing the receiver extension to my UBR last night and was using a BEV block to hold the receiver in place through the magwell. Unfortunately, when using my torque wrench to tighten it down, the receiver was twisting pretty badly against the BEV block. It doesn't help that you need to tighten at the end of the receiver extension of the UBR which turns it into a lever against the receiver. I'm almost certain I can see a bend around the trigger group cut out now but I need to find a square to be sure.
