I recently acquired a rifle that fires 5.56 nato/.223. Where does /k/ buy bulk ammo and reasonable pmags? What's the difference, if any, between the rounds?

They're the same dimensions essentially. The only difference is that 5.56 is a higher load than the .223. You can shoot a .223 out of a 5.56 barrel, but not a 5.56 out of a .223 barrel

This or your local gun store, depending on which is cheaper.
556 are generally hotter, if you have a 556 gun don't worry about the difference too much. You can google why you never use 556 in a 223 marked gun, I'm too lazy to explain, and I forgot most of it other than throat size differences.

Unless you know someone from a gunshop you aren't gonna get better deals than online.

Thanks guys, and thanks to everyone else!
Oh and is a kimber 9mm worth round 700-800?
Bear ammo MFG sells 223/556 that is made in Taiwan and meets NATO specs (brass, non-corrosive). One of the big discount houses was selling it for $300/per 1000 delivered to your door. that's best price on good ammo
Horrible deal
Usually the only 5.56 you can find at LGS for a decent price is (X)M193 55 grain. Everything else costs more, but I'd recommend just using 193 if you have a 16" or longer barrel to keep costs down. It's perfectly lethal against soft targets.
