anybody ever impulse bought a springfield m1a and then shortly thereafter regretted it?

or any gun for that matter?
>>

no never
>>
>>35047108
If you wanna sell it, how much?
>>
>>35047108

I've been thoroughly pleased with my M1A, desu.

Slightly regretted the M&P Shield, since I don't have a use for it currently.

I somewhat regret my Mossberg shockwave because I realize it has ABSOLUTELY no practical purpose, but it still a retarded and fun annoying toy. Much like a desert eagle I expect.
>>
>>35047132
oh yeah? what about the m1a do you like?
>>
I bought a zastava pap m92 the night before the election. I regretted it before it even showed up at my FFL.
>>

yeah I'd regret it too

i own a remington 742. i shouldn't own a remington 742.
>>
>>35047203
For what it's worth, those things are better AK pistols than the dracos. It's just a pointless gun.
>>
>>35047213
Dog, why not? You can find em for like $300, which is stupid for a semi auto 30-06
>>
>>35047251
i bought it for $500 thinking it was an older gun. the guy who sold it to me said his grandfather bought it told me the wrong date he got it; off by over decade. that's what i get for buying a rifle off a tweaker. now i have a rifle i thought was going to be curios and relic by now. only i have to wait another 10 years before i get that opportunity.
>>
>>35047238
After I put a folding brace and cone flash hider on it it became my favorite AK.
>>
>>35047156
Not him but I have a M1A scout squad, Steyr FAL and a Greek import G3. out of all three I like the M1A the most for its shorter length, last round bolt hold open, amazing trigger, effective brake and superior peep sights with a thin front blade.
>>
I've got a sporterized Argentine Mauser "rechambered" for .308 that I bought before I knew shit about guns. It was only a hundred bucks but it's so shit i dont even try to shoot it for fear of it catastrophically failing.
>>
>>35047277
Wow what a moron
>>
>>35047108
Nope. All my gun purchases have been informed decisions.
>>
>>35047238
The draco is an un-monkeyed-with AK with a chrome-lined barrel, what the fuck are you talking about?
>>
>>35047139
Put a Mesa adapter and a tail hook 2 brace on the shockwave. Won't change its legal status but will make it a lot more useful.
>>
>>35047108
bought a Tavor and first range trip regretted the decision.
>>
I bought an LC9 soon after they came out and fucking hated it. Never felt a shittier trigger on any gun, even cheap SNS. It was also physically painful to shoot. My Taurus Curve had a better trigger. I sold it at a massive loss and don't regret it for one second, every moment I had that turd in my possession pissed me off.
>>
>>35047139
If you could only take one of those with you, what would you take?

I have a Marlin model 60 I hardly ever shoot. I wanted a .22 to blow ammo with. It's not that fun of a gun. I'd rather have a bolt .22.
It was cheap, tho.
>>
>>35053320
Really? I only find appeal in a .22 plinker if it is automatic. Though I would kill for a .22 H&R revolver.

>How in the fuck can you afford to impulse buy a $1600 gun?

Why aren't you keeping an emergency $3000?

Yes but I bought the cheap Norinco clone with the pinned to 5 rounds maple mags. It suck balls and QC is about what you expect but at least I'm not out much money.

Mine is also a /k/onfession. I bought an AR right before the last election thinking for sure that Hillary was going to win, payed over a grand for some faux Gucci AR that turned out not to even work. Still haven't gotten it fixed. That was also my first gun. Just really, really bad luck, like unbelievably bad luck honestly

I bought a Baikal MP155 something like 24 months ago, i deeply regret that decision even today.

You'd think after the almost unkillable MP153 they would have done better ? fuck no they didn't...

It can't even cycle a medium 24g birdshot 12/70 so i'm left with 1000 fine shell that won't cycle because the 12/89 version i own is finnicky as fuck, can't even sold, no fucking one want it, why i had to be stuck in France god damnit ?!

Plus blueing is dying so fast loading a shell damage it, cleaning it too, i took a picture with my potato so you can try to see too...

On the bright side, I'm picking up a S&W shield in 9mm later this year.
Better for the small amount of uses I actually would want a gun for.
Cheaper ammo.

Least I got to have the "I'm a gunowner" chat with my family.
>>
Quick question: I love the aesthetics of the m14 style rifle and it's action but I shot a mini 14 and I absolutely hated the feel of the recoil. The weird bounce bugged the crap out of me. So is the m14 similar in that regard and do you get used to the weird recoil eventually?
>>
>>35055504

>>
>>35048740
Unbastardized they are a thing of beauty. 7.65 argentine is tough to find but it shoots like .308 and they were actually built by DWM so the action is smooth as glass.
>>
>>35055771

so it logical to assume that it would be owrse
>>
>>35055976

>>
>>35055476

To a degree you are correct, but if I can pull 1 moa or better groups with my m70 or my old savage 10 McMil then I should be able to do them with an m1a NM as well should I not?

The fact I constantly go groups larger than 1.3 Moa with this weapon disappointed me seeing what I could do with the bolt guns.

There is literally 40 years of people trying to un fuck this rifle to back this claim up. The US army spend millions of dollars trying to make the m14 shoot sub moa, and the only way to do it is a shit tone of fine tuning and upgrades.
And even then maintaining its accuracy is costly.

8/10 bait made me reply.
>>
>>35056496
The M14 doesn't fit in the precision rifle mold. It's a battle rifle. Shoot it open sights with a standard barrel and cheap M80 ball. Take it innawoods, shoot some steel, shoot some hogs.

Only right way is a 60s USGI style build or an 18" bush carbine, open sights all the way.
>>
>>35056496
You can't compare bolt guns any semi-auto when it comes to accuracy, you will dump significant amounts of cash into a semi-auto to do what nearly any bolt action can do at a quarter the price.

I have an M1A Scout Squad and I'm quite happy with it, 2 inch groups at 100 yards is enough for me with a semi-auto I didn't dump a bunch of money into

If I wanted to hunt something from really far away and only had one shot to get the job done I'd take a bolt action, but 99% of people have no need for multiple rounds on a target 800 yards away.

It's not like you'll be able to calculate ballistics and down a herd of elk in 5 rapid shots with your m1a anyhow.
>>
>>35056511

>The M14 doesn't fit in the precision rifle mold.

Yep, thank you for agreeing with my argument.

>>35056512
You can't compare bolt guns any semi-auto when it comes to accuracy,

That was true 15 years ago , now a days you can build an accurate AR for about as much as an accurate bolt gun, there are many many forums about it.

This is a buyers remorse thread. I felt remorse because the weapon did not live up to my exceptions for said weapon.

I , as many other had, heard the m1a nm was a great shooter capable of Sub MOA out the box , many folks swore by it, Come to find out they were full or shit or neglected to say how much effort they threw at it.

>It's not like you'll be able to calculate ballistics and down a herd of elk in 5 rapid shots with your m1a anyhow.

.... Why did you even bother typing that up? I didn't mention anything about hunting, or about rapid fire on target. For all you know I could have been taking a min between each shots writing out my POA/POI and documenting my MV for that given load.

Oh wait, people don't do that sorta thing when measuring accuracy of a rifle.

You might have to paint it yourself. The glass bedding on the supermatch means that the stock that comes with it is physically glued to the gun. The stock is custom fit to the gun. On the loaded or standard versions you can drop in stocks.

None but you can get 20 rounders pinned to 10.
Also Nevada isn't very far away and gun shows cost $12 to attend.

Also stick with the brake. Keeps shit legal, genuinely helps control recoil. Only downside is the lack of a bayo lug which would be fine in CA. Nobody makes M14 brakes with bayo lugs that I know of.
