Opinion on most western countries adopting Multicam? So far US, Russia, UK, Australia, NZ, France, Poland, Netherlands, etc - have adopted plain and edited Multicam patterns as combat uniforms to some extent in their armed forces.
Give your opinions on the pattern.
Works quite well for my AO as it has enough greens to blend in with the sagebrush but enough browns to not stick out against the sand.
I've got a Crye field shirt (since discontinued) and OCP pants in the pattern. Both breathe well, though the Crye shirt's dye has held far better against the punishing sun than the gov't dyes, no surprise there.
I don't think that northern European armies adopting it en masse as a general-issue camo (e.g. Denmark, Norway) makes any sense at all, because it is too light. But for a variety of environments, it works very well. YMMV.
Can't unsee the dicks in Auscam.

I guess for conventional war it may be a bit weird seeing the same looking camo for all sides. But then again we aren't going to see conventional warfare for a while. I think it's good for the purposes its going to serve.
Hate it
america spent the last 10 years developing at least 5 different variations of it which is pretty fucking stupid
>NZ
SAS maybe because they do what they like, but the standard pattern is more like Acupat.
>>35046767
>to some extent in their armed forces

Yes
>Practical
Yes
We need to go back to nothing but OD Green
>>35046811
Like such?
>>35046854
Fuck I love drab uniforms.

You are like baby

dpcu is benis
thousands of benis
Canada will stay with CADPAT forever just out of brand value and tradition
also im navy so everyone i meet wears some variant of a plumber's outfit so i do not give a shit about camo
>>35046565
>my AO

Are you camofags happy with anything that isn't Russian or WWII German? Multicam is a MAJOR step up.
>>35046932
If it were up to me I'd wear a fucking cocktail dress everywhere.
>>35046932
M81 is GOAT
>>35046932
I forgot to mention the Vietnam tiger stripes. I think we can all agree on it.
>>35046516
Any patterns with a color palette like MultiCam are likely to be superior for modern combat. They allow for tremendous versatility with infantry operations in a broad range of regions, seasons, altitudes, and climates. People like to claim that MultiCam is a meme pattern, but fail to understand just what degree of memery was achieved by 20th armies with their extreme desert and tropical snowflake patterns. MultiCam actually works. It beats the shit out of M81 and 3 color desert. It's superior to solid colors like olive drab. Of course, camo patterns in general are better than solid colors, but there isn't typically a better replacement than a multi-environment pattern. MultiCam is BestCam. Anyone who says otherwise is in denial.

>MultiCam is BestCam.
For temperate and semi-arid, which is where the last 30 years of war have been fought. Seriously falters in very green environments though, hence MC tropic.
>>35046932
This is true. Most of us are just shitposting. Anybody who actually thinks multicam isn't good just doesn't have any experience. I personally LIKE old woodland camos more. The new camo is petter though.
aren't they all just the idiot mongloid red headed step-children of the glory that is Flecktarn?
>>35047035
Very green regions are environmental extremes. Relative to mixed vegetation and semi arid regions, rainforest is rare. Operating in tropical regions doesn't necessarily mean being in a rainforest either. Plenty of major battles in mainland Vietnam were conducted in fields of tan grass. Perhaps even more important is the fact that tropical environments tend to demand less out of a pattern by virtue of the fact that dense vegetation provides concealment. Camouflage patterns are more important for dry, wide open terrain.
>>35046516
>France using multicam
Nope, although some sof units sometime use it, it's not "adopted". CCE camouflage is very effective, even the desert version.
>>35047107
>to some extent
Multicam is the future.
>>35046516
Marines need to go back to the good old days of DCU and Woodland
>>35046516
>Russia
No they didn't
SSO are not armed forces
>>35047168
>good old days
The days when soldiers and marines wore jungle camo in the desert?
>>35047020
this
>>35047219
Yes they are. This isn't the Soviet days where the Communist Party had their own army.
Daily reminder that OD #3 is still the best.
>>35047298
See, it isn't though. That is factually incorrect.
>>35047308
Go be wrong somewhere else.
>>35047298
Looks like tan. OD is green.
>>35047264
And then Iraq was invaded by angry shrubs overnight.
>>35047219
>to some extent
Probably biased cos I had to wear it for a couple of years, but I always thought DPCU was aesthetic as fuck.
>>35046567
DPCU Dicks Penis Cocks Uniform. I can only see a bunch of phallus.
>>35047525
The fact we had bush, desert, navy, and even rare snow variants, DPCU was aesthetic as fuck
>>35047144
>>35046516
Is AMCU going to be some copyrighted bullshit like CADPAT?
>>35046767
>Acupat
What's that?
Anyone wanna buy my old DPNUs? Only been worn once
>>35047997
Considering it's using a restricted ink dye like CADPAT, more than likely.
>>35048007
I have a DPNU combat shirt, same as pic related. if any cunts wanna buy kek
>>35046516
It works.
>>35047112
Oh look, France has adopted Flecktarn too.
And Vikingskipshuset t-shirts, since I wore one once when I was in the army.
UCP was way better
>>35047112
If individual units purchase them of their own accord, that's not really adoption. Some OMON units use Atacs out of their own pocket, doesn't mean that Russia has adopted it.
>>35046516
Multicam and AR-15 platform spreed like a disease.
Only faggots fall for it.
>>35048188
Bolt action rifles and drab colors spread like disease.
Only faggots fall for it.
>>35048147
Obviously. Multicam is only multiple, UCP is universal.
>>35047020
>>35047083
Versatility may be necessary for quick reaction forces and the likes, but most units should know well in advance where they'll be fighting. Forces deployed to eastern europe should definitely get something more green than multicam.
Btw. wide open ground is not infantry terrain in the first place; that's where various kinds of vehicles and fire support rule in a real war. Camouflage needs to work for the places infantry will actually fight in.
I DON'T THINK IT'S SIGNIFIGANTLY BETTR THAN WOODLAND
>>35048629
Isn't there a tropical multicam? If so, just make a darker version of it, and boom
>>35048587
please be memeing
>>35048005
>>35047689
Don't forget the super-rad OPFOR variant.
>>35046516
I think the pattern is an all around good camo pattern that's useful in ordinary optical concealment.
>>35048649
There are tons of green-ish camouflage types, all of which will serves us better in the hypothetical Barbarossa 2.0 than multicam.
>>35048788
Then use that. Why is this even a discussion?
>>35046675
W2c ANA camo?
>>35047020
Multicam fucking sucks in any place that had actual vegetation
NATO 3 tone
accept no substitutes
>>35047035
>b-but wh-what about s-s-snow!
>olive drab/multicam/flecktarn/tiger stripe/other autism doesn't camouflage well in solid white!

>>35050570
North Korea best camo
>>35048587
Holy shit that UCP made me cringe
>>35048629
Versatility is not a bonus. It is an absolute necessity for all ground forces. In Iraq my unit moved through wide open sandy deserts to vibrant green orchards over the course of a few hours.
>>35048830
That's bullshit. Dead vegetation, sparse semi arid vegetation, and just about anything but a tropical rainforest has a mixture of tans, browns, and greens.
>>35051140
same
>>35048670
Isn't that UCP?
>>35048629
No dude. Units do not know "well in advance" where they'll be fighting. They could be ambushed while in transit, patrolling large areas, tracking down enemies over long distances, or just go from the bottom to the top of a mountain in an afternoon. Clearly you were never in any military.
>>35052530
That's not UCP. That actually has green in it.
