Pemmican however is nutritionally complete as well as long lasting. You can literally survive indefinitely eating nothing but pemmican. It tastes awesome too

It's very easy to make once you get the process down. It depends on how you go about doing it though. Buying store bought meats and stuff can save you time perhaps, but is obviously less fun.

As far as I'm aware there is no vegetarian alternative simply because fat is a vital nutrient to human health, and it's not something readily available in basically any leafy greens. But realistically, if this were a survival food being vegetarian wouldn't or shouldn't stop someone from eating to sustain their life

Well, I don't know about true operators, but Ranger battalion is the next best thing. They tend to break open MRE's and toss all the useless shit, and only take the individual packets and eat them cold. Saves space and weight.
