Trigger is different, but could be an old Smith & Wesson chambered in .32?
>>
You can tell by the finish on the hammer that is a Steyr Mannlicher M1913
>>
Any markings on it anywhere? Is it painted or was the lighting just bad, it looks like it's covered in shitty paint.

>>35014164
this is probably it, or it's a clone made by some company. You'll need to try and date it before you shoot it, .32 S&W made today uses smokeless powder, so unless the gun is proofed for smokeless it will explode if you use modern ammo.
>>
>>35014647
>>35014164
yeah i'd say spanish smith clone

Couldn't find any markings on the thing. It seems pretty beaten up, no plans on shooting it

Found this rifle too. Like I said I don't know my guns very well. Any thoughts?
>>
>>35014647

Spanish were making BP proof guns until the Revolution, so it's more than likely a BP gun. But most .32 S&W loads are too old specs because manufacturers know most of the guns being fired are older ones like this. I'd still be very hesitant of firing that old bastard with anything that wasn't a primer only load though.

>>35014825

It's a foreign export copy, most likely Spanish. Machining isn't good enough to be genuine S&W. Spain had few copyright protection laws so domestic gun makers could steal foreign designs to their heart's content for the most part. There could be some markings on top of the barrel, can also take the grips off and check under there. Should be some kind of proof marks on that gun somewhere.

Either way, neat little relic, but even if you were going to sell it value is going to be $50 max as a display piece. It has no shooter's value, no collector's value in that condition
>>
>>35014091
Might be an Iver Johnson top break revolver as well. Although >>35014164 might be right as well.
>>
>>35014854
Kentucky long rifle, probably a replica
>>
>>35014854

Hard to tell from that picture. Should be some markings on the lock/action (where the hammer is) or on the tang (behind the trigger), could be some stampings on the barrel (close towards the hammer/rear of gun.

From photo looks 1800's but it could be a more recent replica that was kept in poor condition.
>>
>>35014867

It's not an Iver Johnson. They never made a revolver with that exact trigger guard styling and it's too crude. It was 99% assembled by some cottage industry gunmaker either in Spain or Belgium sometime between 1900-1930.
>>
>>35014091
It's a s&w topbreak (or a clone), in poor condition at that
>>
>>35014863
>But most .32 S&W loads are too old specs because manufacturers know most of the guns being fired are older ones like this

I bought an old gun once chambered for .38 S&W. /k/ argued about this when I asked them, saying that smokeless .38 S&W loads might be loaded to BP specs, but the pressure curve is much, much steeper/faster/whatever. So yes, the total pressure is the same, but it gets to that pressure much more quickly, meaning the gun could kaboom depending on how well made it is. Not something I'd want to risk. OP's gunna need to hand load if he wants to shoot it.

>>
>>35014091
Pretty shure it's a S&W DA model 4 in .32. I have one in .38S&W. That's a gun from 1890-1899

That's a black powder revolver.

Markings should be over the top of the barrel.

If there's no markings and it's as fragile/badly made as it looks, it's probably a knockoff, or it's just really old and worn really badly.

Looks like a serial number, and a relatively high one at that
Now we're getting somewhere
>>
>>35015325
Also, is it double action or single action? When you pull the trigger (check if it's empty first) does the hammer move back?
>>
>>35015380
The hammer does move back wen I pull the trigger. Not that I can pull the trigger back very far.
>>
>>35015401
I think >>35014973 may be correct then, unless the makers made a crude knockoff and stamped a series of numbers not knowing what they mean. You see that a lot with crude, homemade guns typically of Chinese origin.
>>
>>35015439
Do you have any thoughts on the rifle??
>>
>>35015558
I can't really read the markings, they're a bit too worn. Are there any more?

I'm not really a pre-repeater rifle guy so I don't really know where to begin, maybe there's someone else here that can help, I'm sorry
All that stuff is really awesome though. Can you transcribe the letters?
>>
>>35015789
They're instructions on how to load the rifle, and a letter from the Alamo, but the rest is hard to read

Understandable. That's a really cool collection you got there man
I found a lead on the rifle. It looks like a Tennessee style Longrifle, at least according to Google which we all know is the most reliable source of information.
>>
>>35015918
Thanks man. I guess this stuff has been in the family for a while, I just never knew about it till now. You wouldn't happen to know anything about swords would you? He left me one and it's all framed up. Like I said I'm not the most versed person in this stuff.
>>
>>35016003
Lets see the sword. Keep working on transcribing those letters

I honestly don't know, i hope someone can help with this I'm genuinely curious about all of it.

If i were to take a shot it the dark about the sword, I'd say it was from asia somewhere, China maybe
>>
>>35016276
Idk, looks very south american.

Maybe, just maybe they pistol and rifle are bring backs?
>>
>>35016442
Ok, fairly certain it's Chinese, early 1800s. I'd like to know how it came into your grandfathers posession. Im sure there's some cool history to all that stuff. You're very lucky to have been given these heirlooms, take care of them op

I thought it looked Asian as well. He was in the Korean War so I figured that's where he got it. But again, I have no clue and no one in the family knows.
>>
>>35016518
That makes alot of sense. While i doubt he picked it up on the battlefield, it was most likely bought as a souvenir. Still really old, still really cool
>>
As far as the guns; i can almost guarantee that they are not bring backs from korea.

The rifle, knife and powder horns are most likely a set unto themselves and with the revolver being slighly newer, is likely to have been added to the collection later, not connected to the rifle or sword

looks like a Chinese Jian with a large Cartouche (the squintrunes; they're a signature of sorts) on the ricasso (unsharpened part of the blade)

I'd talk to a museum about what you have, the blade is somewhat unusual in my amateur opinion.

My grandpa also died and I'm getting some of his guns.
What's the consensus on the Ruger .22-250?

Hey, at least he didn't leave you crippling self-doubt.
>>
>>35016608
I don't think you can class those as longbows.
