Thinking about getting a new upper.
Which would be better? 1:7 stainless steel or 1:8 CMV nitrided?
The nitrided one is 30 bucks more than the stainless steel one.
Nitrided 4150 is gonna have way better barrel life, accuracy will be mediocre with both.

The 1/8 freedom mid nitride uppers go on sale for $159 or 169 with free shipping if you can wait.
Nitride will have a longer life but it won't be a difference you'll ever notice. But nitride is a stronger finish in and out, making easier cleaning and better corrosion resistance.
Why don't they make a 11.5" complete upper?

I did the 10.5, but deep down inside, I really wish it was an 11.5 or 12.5.
Oh well, runs like a fucking champ on crack.

DESU, I'm actually kinda considering that, or the carbine length. Same price for both right now.
stainless is shit get the 5150 nitride at the least, get the 4150 CHF if you got the cash.

This pic made me laugh more than I should have.

So it has heart attacks? bantz
How often do you run it and do you have in critiques on it?

Use a H3 buffer. Seriously. WAY over gassed. Other than that, I really love it. Turned into one he'll of a handy little "pistol".
I did swap the factory CAR handguards for the extended MOE from magpul. Damn near a must with that short little guy. I kept trying to put my hands on the FSB while shooting.
Oh, and the finish scratches ridiculously easy. Like, WAY easier than I'd want, and I'm total fine with scratches, wear and tear on anything that I intend to get used. Like that "pistol".
