Could this work?
>highest pressure gas stored in top after firing
>gas keys act as pistons
>Gas fills lower piston keeping the bolt from moving back until the bullet leaves the barrel
>no hole in barrel
That's a really fuck around way of turning an AR into a VG 1 for the only "benefit" being no gas port.

I imagine it would work but it adds an additional mechanism to the firearm which can fail due to wear/defect without much of an added benefit.

Would result in a massive reduction in cartridge power

How?
The piston sizes are exaggerated anyways
The bottom piston also only vents out of the barrel

Wait, shouldn't this be called "gas delayed blowback"? There's no locking mechanism at all. Just the gas pressure delays movement of the bolt.

How the fuck is the bolt gonna move rearward

Also that shit requires a lot of math and experimenting to work as intended, since according to your picture the gasses would oppose each other making the bolt stand still. I think that extending the tube responsible for reciprocating the bolt would solve this.
