Well, the US Army's NCO Saber is like $199 through AAFES. Doesn't come sharpened (it's not intentionally blunted but it doesn't have the secondary bevel) but it's a real-deal military saber made to correct specs including a tempered carbon steel blade.

No, generally speaking you won't find a proper reproduction of a saber on the market whatsoever.

Too thin at the base, or steel is too soft, or fit&finish is too low quality

This is an actually okay, cheap saber. It's nothing fancy, and the balance is a bit "German" for my tastes, but it's not bad for $150. Also, if you're patient you can improve the balance of Windlass and Cold Steel swords with a belt sander or files and polishing stones.
