How does adjusting the gas system to account for a shorter barrel work when creating a legal semi-auto SBS, like a Saiga SBS? How difficult is it? I have a project I want to try, but I don't want to ruin a perfectly functional gun.

More what? Pics?
This is what I want to chop-a Puma. On one hand, anons are correct-it's a tricky idea to get it to run well. On the other, I figured you can chop a Saiga, so...
What are you looking for exactly? Cutting down a saiga barrel and getting it to run reliably? You will need to remove the gas block and open up some of the gas ports to run reliably and even then you are looking at using high brass shotgun shells. There is a guy in the ak files named evil something and has a 6" saiga that runs reliably.

I have a dream-to chop down an LA K-12 Puma for HD. I may have to scrap the idea if it won't be possible, but it would be so much fun if I could pull it off.

It has an adjustable gas system with three settings, but this isn't like a Saiga-I may not be able to buy a second barrel outright to play with. I just want to know what people think-is it even possible?
