Lots of jokes about it and a focus on technical aspects, especially about the non threatening parts of a gun like grips, internals, metalworking. If coworkers are engineers they can actually see why it interest you as well.

I tell them I respect their opinion but if they are ever curious that I would be willing to take them to the range to try shooting out and if they have any preferences of guns they wanna shoot from like movies or whatever. That way it gets them involved in viewing guns in a sort of positive light based on the coolness factor in media they enjoy.

Where I live guns ARE "normie". It's abnormal not to have them. I don't have anti-gun friends or associates. I don't want or need them, nor do I want or need anyone who is infuckted with learned helplessness.
