Having a chance to get a S&W 22A for 200 bucks. It's the model with the 4in barrel. It's used, but the guy says he's only put around 300 rounds through it and it's not a recall gun either.
That seems like a decent price but I'm iffy on the short barrel. I can get a 6" U22 Neos for around 300 after taxes brand new. I really want a Mk4 but can't justify the extra hundred bucks over the Beretta. Even used, people are asking at or above MSRP for them.
Anyone have any experience with the 22a?
22A was my first gun back in 2010, though I have the 5.5 inch bull barrel. Everytime I take it out, I'm very impressed with how well it shoots.
Only regret is the lack of threaded barrel, but I can't get a silencer in this state anyway.
Yea, I'd like to eventually get a suppressor but I don't see that happening any time soon. The whole reason I'm looking to get a .22 is because I'm a poorfag and some recent events in my life have seen shooting even my 9mm to be a little more expensive than I'd like.
Do it.
Not ugly like the Neos. Cheaper than a Buckmark or Ruger MkX or 22/45. Takedown for cleaning is way easier too. 22A will even cycle some subsonics.
Mount a good budget red dot like a Bushnell TRS-25 on the top rail, and buy some spare parts from Brownells while they're still in stock.

I have one, exact gun, bought on impulse from PS when they were on sale for 199.99
It is a fine .22. Good sight, accurate, and easy to drop some optics on if you get the urge to toss a cheap red dot on it.
It isn't perfect, the big rubbery grips are retarded, but it works well, and is a good shooter.
