Idk that's just the way it is I guess. I got into this hobby wanting to get into WW2 surplus but when I saw the gouging shit I just said fuck that and got an AR, a Glock and a .22

I think I'll probably get another AR, another strikerfire 9 and a decent 1911. If I can build a classic looking AR and a spec 1911 and grab some more 'Nam milsurp (which is cheaper much more plentiful) I'll have a pretty cool historical loadout even if it's from a war that we lost.

I'm done racing fudds, Unless I can get a decent price on a 1903 springfield or find a mosin that falls into my lap under 300 I'm done with it.

If you're into WW2 history, you owe it to yourself to get an M1 Garand at some point. The CMP selection is currently pretty dry, and I don't know when or if that will change. But there are plenty still floating around the market.

I can afford a $2000 gun but if I can get the same gun for half that price or less I certainly won't complain. I have the opposite problem, the market is so saturated with guns and now that there's no longer the pre-election scare prices are dropping like rocks. I've spent the vast majority of my income in the past few months on guns because the prices are just too fucking good.

You need to understand that what you perceive as over priced is actually reasonably priced and that you're being a special snowflake poorfag.
Most rifles let alone most goods will never ever benefit from the economy of scale that the AR-15 does. You can't get a high quality peice of forged metal designed by a team of Engineers and built by a production line of professionals for $500.

If you are looking for a patrol rifle or a SHTWROL rifle then yes, you probably want to spend at least 800 dollars on your AR, but for civillian use, AKA range time and home defense, a $400-$500 AR15 works just fine. My $500 PSA AR has yet to jam on me and doesn't rattle at all. It's no sub MOA rifle but I dont need it to be. I just need it to shoot reliably at the range and fling hollowpoints at anyone who dares force their way into my house.
