What are the best C&R guns under $400? My father in law has a C&R license, but he is a fudd that's more stingy with his money than a jewish accountant, so his advice is useless 90% of the time.

Rifles or pistols are fine, I just want some quality shit that won't break the bank, I am a poorfag.

absolute cheapest you can get is a spanish mauser for like $150
mosins go for at least $250 these days
yugo mausers come in at about $300 and up depending on condition
SKSes are hardly cheap anymore but under $400 is doable
