Just in case you actually want to know, a clip is for putting bullets into magazines. Some clips just connect to the top of a magazine and let you shove all the bullets in. Other clips, such as the m1 garand's en bloc clips, actually go into the magazine with the bullets.

Bullets feed clips which feed magazines.
