What kind of nugget is this. I found it in my great grandfather's

By 1929 the Soviets were only making Dragoon-length M91 rifles, and the Finns had switched to the m/27 (which this obviously is not). Since yours still appears to retain its curved Konovalov rear sight I'd guess it is a Soviet M91 Dragoon that was never upgraded to M91/30 spec. Post more pics.

Does the serial number on the bolt match the one on the barrel over the chamber? Does it have a letter "D" stamp on the barrel, or the letters [SA] in a box on the barrel?

D is clearly visible I can make out an SA or an OA also. Serials on barrel bolt and butt match.

Then what you've got is a Soviet-made M91 Dragoon that was captured by Finland, either during the Winter War or the Continuation War. The [SA] is the property mark of the Finnish Army and came into use in late 1942 (though the rifle may have been captured before that, it means that the rifle definitely passed through Finnish hands sometime after late 1942). The "D" mark means the rifle is safe to use with the Finnish D166 heavy ball round, which caused some issues in the throats of barrels made in or contracted for by Finland, but because Soviet Mosins use a larger-diameter projectile anyway this rifle required no actual modification to use the D166 cartridge.

BTW, if you want it to look more properly military you can put an M91/30 stock and handguard on it; they fit the M91 Dragoon just fine.
