couple thousand if all at once. 20,000+ if over a period of time. being as that's an m16 in the army, i'd say it's an old as fuck barrel that's seen it's fair share of rounds through it. best guess is around 30,000 rounds, give or take a few thousand.

hole is rear of gas port, gas would have vented out of hole before getting to the gas port.

It looks like a squib round lodged in the barrel and the following shot resulted in barrel blowing out. At least that would be my guess.

Wasnt there an issue with the new m855a1 bullets being over pressured an causing failures in the barrel and gas tubes?
