Dude, you can hardly make generalizations within a single province, let alone from one coast to the other.
The ratio of people giving you shit is unlikely to be significantly different from the rest of society.

Technically, 80% receivers are still legal. The problem is that an 80% can be machined to any spec. of receiver, including the one they recently decided was verboten, so they treat all 80%'s as being non-kosher.
>>
>>34957338

only if you have $50,000 for the legal fees to win that court battle.

the whole shelf thing was retarded, because of the amount of 100% lowers already sold and distributed deemed haram.

nothing came out of the shelf thing, it was absolutely autistic on the rcmp's part. if anything it was just the stepping stone to their 80% lower report.

Probably CCFR for both of those questions. CSSA is actually pretty solid, and has a decent chance of converting fudds to better ideas though. Honestly, I'd look into getting involved with both if you want to spend money on that kind of thing.
>>
>>34959058
So they were the ones who got the info? I heard there was a leak and they tracked it to one of the candidate's staff but I didn't look too much into it. CCFR looks good though, soon as I find $1000 I'll join up with them, just will take some time as I'm a student etc.

The CCFR is the way to go, (I'm a member) the team that Rod Giltaca and Tracey Wilson have helped build is really what we need in Canada. The CCFR approach is to educate the public, media and politicians about firearms and lawful ownership. This has gotten us much further than beating our chests and demanding full-autos and no PALs. The CCFR does want legal full autos too though, but one step at a time and in the right political climate. Plus Rod is savage.

If there's ever a conflict you feel strongly about you can immediately swap over to active duty and unless we're literally being invaded our military has always been a volunteer force, so...
>>
>>34966832
why choose college instead of university?

if its the answer I'm anticipating, what average had you rejected at universities but accepted at colleges?
>>
>>34966862
Nice, do you or anyone else know how difficult it would be to go from NCM to Officer? I heard they don't want people who have already been NCM to be officer because they don't show leadership qualities
>>
What's a decent price on a used m305? Some guy wants $450 for one with only 28 rounds fired, one 5 round magazine, a 5/20 magazine and 72 rounds

I'd join the forces if I was you. After you do your 3 or what ever year contract you'll be wise enough to know real engineering and going back into academics, which to be honest, you were never good at, is not what you want.

I say this as a chronically underperforming university student majoring in a discipline with similarly difficult to acquire accreditation. do not force yourself through this shit at a young age when you can't be fucked to give a fuck.

that's my pessimist 2 cents.
>>
>>34966971
already wasted 2 years of my life buddy, but I genuinely want to study engineering and it should be piss easy in college.
I actually don't want to be mentally ravaged as full time NCM.
Youth is wasted on the young.
>>
>>34966971
btw what year are you in and what major if you don't mind
>>
>>34967005
>I genuinely want to study engineering
I genuinely want to be a formula 1 driver but I know that's not in the realm of possibility, on account of my deficiencies.

I really think its a case of you're either smart enough or you're not + you either have the work/study ethic or you don't. I have one semester left before I graduate (5.5 years for what should have been 4), but if I had known 2 years in what I know now I think I would have fucking dropped out and unironically set out a career path to become rcmp or something. that's how much I hate being in university as a complete mediocre student. you might feel like you're in too deep with those two years, but fucking trust me, you're not.
>>
>>34967076
I settled on Accounting when I knew in 12th grade I didn't have the grades or work ethic to sustain an attempt at Engineering. I have multiple friends who went engineering, one who graduated bachelors as early as 3 years, and 2 that dropped/transferred/downgraded.
>>
>>34967080
buddy, listen, I wanted to do some fucking contract work or something after HS cause I know 'secondary education' is a trap. I have to do schooling for BS family reasons, disown, guilt trip, etc.
I know you're right, but I also think I might find some peace in doing eng in college. If not then I can still do NCM full time, but for now I'm going to try.
>>
>>34966785
I'm the guy you replied to.
I'm also in engineering, also in a coop program, also in the reserves. It is very doable, and I highly recommend it. The reserves is objectively one of the best part time jobs for students, because of its unique work schedule that fits well with schooling. The way I see it, the army is willing to accommodate people's schedules, so focus on your education. After uni, you have all kinds of options, including the military path of joining as an officer.
>>
>>34967110
I'm glad you could see the point I've tried to make. too many people fall for the post secondary ed meme that belong no where near it, so I warn anyone I can. as far as your family goes, fuck them. your life is about you now. set in motion things now that will lead to you having the best life possible 5/10/20 years from now, no matter what they think of it. CF opens a lot of doors. if that's genuinely what you want don't let them shun you.
>>
>>34967175
Are you an officer in the reserves or NCM?
>>
>>34967175
I forgot to add, your coop program WILL be a problem, I'm telling you now (speaking from university experience, don't know how colleges work). You need to time your military trainings perfectly so that you can get all your qualifications in the free time you have between coop stages.
>>
>>34967198
NCM. If you're in a high stress academic environment, not having a tonne of responsibility at your place of work is a bonus. Also, I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think you can become an officer without completing your degree. That said, I may or may not recall officer cadets and 2LTs not having their degrees yet.
>>
>>34967215
I'll try to find a coop close by but it should be only 9-5 or something. Even if it's 2 hours away, i'll still make it.
>>
>>34967234
So have you talked to the recruiter about how your transition to officer will be after you complete your degree?
>>
>>34967239
You misunderstood. Showing up on Tuesdays and going to weekend exercises isn't the problem, it's doing your qualifications that may pose a problem if the stars don't align and your schedules don't coincide. FYI, your qualifications are usually done in the summer and can take between 3 weeks and 2 months, so summer stages for your coop are impossible
>>
>>34967257
Oh, do I have to do qualifications every year? I thought I could just do them in Year 1 summer
>>
>>34967248
Not yet. Can't help you there. Generally with the army, it's a cluster fuck whenever you want to make big transitions like that. Switching from reserves to regular force can take up to 3 years, god knows how long a switch from NCM to officer takes. I really have no clue
>>
>>34967269
All the necessary qualifications can be done in one shot in one summer (takes the entire summer). After that, all qualifications are optional.
>>
>>34967287
Sounds good. Just wondering if these are the minimum physical requirements:

http://www.forces.gc.ca/en/news/article.page?doc=canadian-forces-physical-fitness-standards/hnps1vfu

Is it same for reserves? It seems too easy lol
>>
>>34967316
The physical test is all function-related. Basically you do shuttle runs, lift sandbags, drag sandbags, walk with sandbags, etc. It's PISS easy. Keep in mind that the fitness test is for ALL trades in the army, including all the soft-ass POG trades. You will be appalled by how many brittle women and borderline fat asses you'll encounter in the army. If you're joining one of the combat arms, your training is what's going to kill you, not the fitness test. Honestly, don't even think about the fitness test, it's a joke.

>short as fuck indoor cuckery

pros:
>minimum fudds, those that come can't say shit to anyone, since pistols and black rifles are main bread and butter of the range
>clean, polite professional staff
>magdumping is smiled upon
>despite indoor and short range, any caliber from twannytoo to fiddycall is allowed
>politely request that you call ahead if you're bringing a .50BMG so they can warn people (those who don't want to be around when a .50BMG starts going off indoors and those who will come specifically to experience it, lel)

No steel core, but any other loads up to .338 Lap are allowed. 50m range is spacious and usually empty, unlike the 25m handgun range. Also, you get access to a comfy lounge with TV and small collection of gun books, cheap soda, and clean showers in the bathroom. Only major downside are the plebs who magdump for 5 minutes and never clean up.

there was about 15 million more SKSs made than SVT-40s, so I think you won't see too dramatic of a price increase. That being said if the Ukraine/Russia thing keeps up I wouldn't be surprised to see them get to about $400.

It's just that I want a x39 rifle but it would only feel reasonable for me to buy it in a couple months and every time I want something I keep irrationally sperging out about how it could disappear in a second for basically no reason.

they're definitely not worth that

CGN. They're generally lower quality, mostly because of rusty gas spigots in the grenade launcher, so it's really just America that ordered them in. We got like one shipment of them, but that's it.

I'm some dipshit who just completed his safety course (Which is a joke, some kid swept the instructor and the class with the dummy gun and was still allowed to pass)

I have a thing for the more rough-looking guns, my dream is to somehow get my hands on a mk2 Sten or a nambu. Any suggestions for legal, "ugly" but still aesthetic guns?
I'll probably end up with a .22 or mosin since I can't afford anything else though anyway.
>>
>>34983718
Sten is banned because muh full auto, nambus are just rare and have super expensive and rare ammo.

Suomi smg or the ppsh semi or.22 i think you can get

How?
>>
>>34983753
I can't get a very clear picture with my potato but there are distinct scratches/cracks in the bore.
There are six of them in an obviously hexagonal pattern though, could those be tool marks?

I don't know enough about barrels and rifling to know if that's an actual issue or if I'm freaking out over nothing, which is something I do pretty often.

If you're going to supply info at least make sure it's right.
Nambus are prohib based on ammo, baby nambus on barrel length.
Stens come in 2 different prohib flavours as well as restricted and non-res.

The Type 14 isn't, they're in 8x22 Nambu and have a barrel more than long enough to be restricted
I want real bad, they look cool as fuck and it would match my Type 38

You can still order and pay for it.

have there been comprehensive reviews of the WR and checks on westrifles manufacturing process? and the life on those not-chromelined barrels? the WR isn't exactly a known quantity.

It's like $250 more. They're cheaper or equivalent to most of the other VZ's on the market.

Huntinggearguy did one.

It's from a great company who doesn't fuck people around. Westrifle's been transparent through the entire process, unlike TI. They've been in the business for years, how are they not known?

>Malformed

It's a VZ, made in Canada, it's not much different.

You get the VZ's aftermarket support and all the parts/mags etc that come with an established rifle. And the horse police can't come back it with some "converted auto" nonsense.

Suppressors are much easier for Libshits to let slide into legal status than mag limits, because every shooting involves a mag, almost none involve suppressors.
