Real answer? Nobody knows what kind of point you're trying to make. What is that? Where is it from? It must be from fiction, because nobody I've seen in real life or history has ever used one like that made out of that material. It's anachronistic with literally everything you could possibly wear unless you're at a steampunk convention or are a final fantasy character or something. Ironically the only way to make the holster look less ridiculous or at least match what you're wearing is to wear an outfit that's even more ridiculous. Like a short sleeved leather jacket over a heavily embroidered tan wifebeater, matching cowboy boots, ray ban sunglasses, and blond hair combed straight up, carrying a black hi-power with perl grips. Now your holster matches your clothes but nobody wants to get within 30 feet of you.

Maybe if you dressed in some of the stranger parts of 1970's casual wear it would blend in too, but that has the same effect on people as that other thing I just described.

If you have an issue with movement with 36 extra ounces on one side then you shouldn't be firing a weapon anyways, you're a borderline invalid.

I personally wouldn't wear one in public, but I do wear my blackhawk while out on my property. I'm not going to fumble with a shirt when I come across a rabid fox (we had one about two weeks ago).
If you only have the option of open carry, there's not many other options.

There isn't a problem with thigh holsters. When you're wearing so much shit on your chest that it actually interferes with a typical belt holsters, they're absolutely fine. You get one low enough to accomodate your gear and go. Done. BTW carry less shit.

The problem comes in when dumbasses wear them when they're really not necessary and have no benefit to offset the disadvantages they bring, and then also simultaneously wear them WAY THE FUCK LOWER than they need to be. Drop leg is great, but you have to understand that it means your hand is right on top of it at all times, so that does actually scare people more.

The closer to your hip, the easier it will be to move with a handgun. If your gear makes that unworkable, then it should be kept as close to your hip as possible. If your application involves nothing but walking, then no big deal.
