Any recommendations for a duty gun for someone that is smaller than average? I currently carry a full size 1911, but it's too bulky. It constantly gets hung up whenever I get in and out of vehicles. I just need something that's more compact. Also, I really don't like Glocks. Is there anything out there that is shorter that doesn't have too thick of a grip profile? I'm not talking barrel length here, I'm talking about height from the bottom of the grip to the top of the slide. I know guns like the G26 are way shorter in that sense, but that's smaller than what I want for a duty weapon. Pic related is what I carry now.

You could try some Kahr pistols. Some are very small, but some of their better models are larger. Also J-frame revolvers are a thing.

You can get a Springfield XDS with a 4 inch barrel, then carry it with the extended magazine. The extended magazine adds about a half inch to the grip through a plastic attachment that fits over the mag.

I'm not looking for something tiny, just something that will not get hung up every time I try to get in and out of vehicles because the grip extends past the back of my leg. Am considering a Steyr M9 or a CZ of some sort, but I'm wondering if I'd still have the same issues.

You misspelled HK P30L there friendo.

HK has a deal going with those where they'll send you four extra mags. Maybe I should go full John Wick. Also, the LEM trigger looks awesome.

Now if only I could find the comp from John Wick...

Perhaps a compact 9mm 1911?

>dimensionally slightly smaller than a g19/23
>can get thin grip panels for even the smallest hands
>spare magazines are thin as fuck and more concealable
>great trigger (on my citadel anyway)
>can get crimson trace if you'd like
>can get streamlight weaponlights if needed
>comfy
>aesthetic

Well get an AIDS test, faggot. When it comes to bore axis Glock is king and none come close. You also think carrying a 1911 is a good idea, so you don't get a voice.

Oh, and a full size 1911 is not even slightly hard to avoid getting hung up. Get a real holster and stop being retarded.

By "duty" I assume "walking around pretending to be a cop", because most PDs have a pretty short list of approved firearms.

If your concern is ergonomics, why don't you go to a fucking gun store and look at what's available instead of soliciting opinions from random idiots on the internet.

Currently carrying in a safariland sls holster. The issue is that I'm 5'7" and weigh about 140lbs.
>>
>>34930181
Concept: there are people that carry guns for work that aren't cops.
>>
>>34930048
I'd suggest the Springfield EMP if it weren't for Springfields recent bullshit.

What does being a manlet have to do with
>Currently carrying in a safariland sls holster.
Have you considered a holster that actually angles the firearm properly? I know we get shit on for using shit other than Safariland, but they're not that good. Try talking to a local holstermaker.
>>
>>34930322
Will definitely look into that. Am also looking to move to something double stack in the near future.
>>
>>34930322
may be pricey but custom holsters are literally the best shit you can get as far as comfort and real word function

>>34930051
some people dont want a piece of shit with a nigger tier trigger and no aesthetic quality

I know it's not technically correct, but we're not having a technical discussion right now. Jesus!
>>34930346
They really are, and the Glock trigger isn't that bad. It's consistent and clean, which is a lot more important than being light. Just don't try to make the trigger light - a 3.5 lbs connector makes the trigger lighter, but so very shit.

Hey OP, havnt read the rest of the comments, but i have small hands that only a 1911 would feel good in. I recommend ruger american, the small grip module it has makes it as thin as a 1911. Another option is the sig 320, I have a full size in 45, and the medium size grip module feels good in hand, I have a small size grip module for it too, and it actually feels too thin lmao.

So, those are my recommendations, ruger american, or sig 320

HK paddle releases are shit ergonomics for anyone with larger than manlet hands.
