Sup /k/, quick question,
should I unstring my bow after I'm done shooting? What are some factors to consider? Its a recurve btw

Well, if you leave the bow stringed you're leaving tension on it, and putting unnecessary wear on it. Just unstring it once you're done.

are you retarded as fuck? you shouldn't unstring your bow. The constant stringing and unstringing will ruin the bow in the matter of weeks

I've been unstringing my bow for years with no problem. Don't know what you've been doing.

I see. Thank you.

I'm getting mixed signals here fellas

depends on the type of bow.
recurve bows with composite, fiber, or wood limbs should be unstringed after shooting.

you always unstring a recurve after use, plebian.

A wood only selfbow must be unstrung after use, or the limbs will take a "set", and lose strength.
A modern (anything after the 1950's) wood & fiberglass bow can be left strung, unless you have something that is total shit. I've heard reports of vintage 1970's bows left strung their entire lives, without losing any draw weight.
But by all means, you must use a stringer! Using the "through the leg" method without a stringer, the slight twist on the bow can cause the fiberglass to cold set in a certain direction, leading to limb twist. Limb twist can usually be undone with a variety of methods.
