You might be a bit spoiled, Finnbro. We pay a massive premium for Valmets in the US for good reason. Our domestically-made AK's all fucking suck. The Rk.62 is fucking god-tier.

>>
>>34917723
Basically all of the above, at least by AK standards. Without getting into weird boutique builds, you can't really do much better with the platform. The Israelis copied the Rk62 for a reason, and the only reason more countries didn't follow suit was because it's rather heavy and expensive compared to a regular AKM.

>>34917723
Yes to all three.

The Valmet in typical Finnish tradition, shamelessly steals a Russian design, then makes slight but meaningful improvements to the design.

Basically they took an already amazing rifle, then made it slightly better. The only comparable AK variant is the Israeli Galil, which is just a licensed Valmet clone.
>>
>>34917786
Oh, well you fired a very, very nice ak. If I could find a valmet in my area which is what yours is basically, i would!

>The gas drive and rotating bolt of FNC strongly resembles the AK-47 system, butadapted for more advanced production technologies such as CNC machining and with some modifications. The long stroke gas piston is located above the barrel and is linked to the bolt carrier. Unlike the AK-47, the gas piston rod could be separated from the bolt carrier when gun is disassembled.
Calm your tits, nigger-boy.
>>
>>34917899
FNC bolt/bolt carrier design is heavily inspired by the AK. The manufacturing process, and heavy use of stampings is also very AK like. The designers were attempting to make an improved western AK.

Since this seems to be the milled AK thread.

Why hasn't anyone made a milled AK that takes AKM bolt carriers and bolts? The commentary on the C39v2 repeatedly specifies getting a polish milled bolt carrier and bolt in case the stock parts break. Why is this, is it because they're based off a Polish pattern? Why not make a receiver that takes the presumably more common AKM bolt carrier and bolt? Or are my assumptions off and they are actually interchangeable and people are just shilling?

Apparently in Finland someone is selling the civilian model of the rk95 for 2k and also includes a suppressor and six magazines and the pouches you see there. Also a thing for mounting optics.

>>
>>34934222
it's really is not.
I will hate myself forever for not biting the bullet on a 480€ Arsenal SAR-1 deal that came with two different stocks & pistol grips, some optic sight, bipod, tons of mags of different sizes, cleaning kit, carry bag, etc, just couple years ago.

Yeah, the prices CAN be quite "low" in Winland at best. I ended up grabbing a 350€ Norinco AKM with a screw-on 7x scope later on, after having lots of Sako M92 and Valmet M62 rifles offered to me for 1500-2000 € . Which was a bit too much for a poorfag University student at the time.
>>
>>34934290
I have never seen any Rk variant go for under 2k so 2100€ for a 92S in a good condition & with all that extra stuff *is* ridiculously low

also comparing Rks to Norincos? Might as well say a Garand for $500 isn't low because you can find a Mosin for $200...

Like said, I could've gotten one for 1500 eurobux in 2015, but that would've left me homeless at the time.

In case you didn't know, Norincos are quite sought after in the States, and are considered fine guns. A bit rough, I give you that, but they work. I ended up choosing mine over an RK for couple other reasons too: chromelined barrel, and the bit wider barrel diameter. Both which make shooting Soviet steel surplus ammo a non-issue, but could potentially "weld shut" an RK.
>>
>>34934416
sought after in the States? Probably has more to do with import bans than anything else, every reservist I have talked with about Norincos has said the same: inconsistent quality, multiple cases of two groupings, only good for plinking with friends using shitty Russian ammo etc....

the build quality also does BTFO some of the modern western-shit AKs. Can't comment on other people's rifles, but mine has had zero issues, and especially with a red-dot sight it's easy to pop those shotgun clay targets from even 50+ meters.

>only good for plinking with friends using shitty Russian ammo etc....
that's the best thing about it really.
A cheap blinker in respectable caliber, with all the manliness people relate to the "AK-47". And assuming ya get a fine piece (like I apparently did), it makes a-OK battle rifle too.
>>
>>34934416
if your Norinco is good, good, it's just that I have been told by several people that buying even a new Norinco is always a toss-up between an ok rifle & "maanantaikappale", personally I wouldn't take the chance...
>>
>>34934516

>But practically anyone "serious" about SRA gets a custom AR15 these days.
so I have heard, but just because everyone else is blowing thousands on ARs doesn't mean I have to do the same, IMO an Arsenal with a telescopic stock and a red-dot on a dust cover equipped with picatinny rail should do just fine
>>
>>34934719
That's what I thought, until I started seeing SRA scores, with the best ranking 7.62x39 shooter ranking 30-something'th by average.

Personally, as long as my blinker can hit a steel plate the size of a man's torso from 100-150 meters, with the irons only, I'm happy.
>>
>>34934798
>That's what I thought, until I started seeing SRA scores, with the best ranking 7.62x39 shooter ranking 30-something'th by average.
sounds perfect, if I had a hevaily customised sub-MOA AR-15 I'd be under pressure to practice to become able to achieve sub-MOA -groupings & that would take most if not all of the fun out of the whole thing for me, I could always get a sub-MOA rifle later & until then compete with a "good enough" rifle & based on what I have heard a Norinco is too much of a gamble for me

Most likely the people who are in the top are there because they practice the most, not because they are using ARs. But if you're that serious about it, you might as well buy an AR.
