Hey guys I need some help. I just bought my first gun (glock 19 gen4) but I want a rifle. I'm new to the gun world and want something for medium to long-range shots.any ideas? I was thinking of a fn fal but I don't know.
>>
Good luck finding a decently made fal these days your best bet if to get a well made clone.
>>
>>34916383
Well in open to anything really I want something sexy yet powerful

You have no idea how much of a 12 year old codfag you sound like.

Who makes the best clone iyo

Ak47 is more reliable but m16 is good for long range accuracy. So pick which is more important. In my country can't have either because rate of fire melts perscribed rfid tag.

If you're a poorfag, buy a second hand AR-15.

If you want an affordable .308 battle rifle go with a PTR-91 GI.

Determine a budget first, and don't spend every cent on a rifle. Spend also on ammunition, spares, and training.

>>34916358
Anything in 7.62x51mm is going to be a bit much for a beginner to master, it's also going to be quite costly both in terms of gun and ammo.
>FN FAL
>>34916715
Well, DSA makes copies of them and they are available. Quality isn't perfect, but good enough for the amount of shooting you'll probably actually do.
It's still like a $1,200-1,500+ rifle.

Also due to inherent mechanical limitations it won't be all THAT accurate. Accurate enough for a battle rifle, but not a DMR.
>>34916404
Consider getting an AR-15. They are rock bottom stupid cheap right now. You can get a decent complete rifle for like $600 EZ and ammo is about 30-50% cheaper.

If you're dead set on 7.62x51mm, PTR-91 is a very well made copy of the H&K G3 and it's only ~1,000 or you can buy an AR10, which is an AR-15 scaled up to 7.62 though there are several different manufacturers with varying cost/quality.

Here are some examples.
>AK
Serbian Zastava M70, not cross-compatible with certain AK parts, but really good as-is and good value.

>AR-15
Aero Precision complete rifle, though there are others offered as cheap as $450 on this website.
https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/aero-precision-x-15-detail.html?Itemid=0
>AR-10
Del-Ton Echo 308, cheapest complete AR-10 on the market that I know of.
https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/delton-de10-308-16-black-detail.html?Itemid=0
And a slightly more expensive one from Armalite for contrast.
https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/armalite-ar-10-a-series-defensive-sporting-rifle-detail.html?Itemid=0
>FAL
DSA "Voyager" FAL with cheaper cast receiver and simplified rear sight.
https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/ds-arms-fal-sa58-rifle-21-premium-threaded-barrel-detail.html?Itemid=0
>G3
PTR-91 GI R model with extra mags. Newer model with paddle release and accessory rail welded to top of receiver which makes mounting optics EZ.
https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/ptr-gi-r-308-rifle-paddle-mag-release-detail.html?Itemid=0
>Other goofy/neat shit.
JRA rebuild of Italian BM59 rifles. I hear these are really neat but mags are rare and fuck you levels of expensive.

All of this is just what ONE website has to offer.

Not OP but I'm also new to shooting.
I got a .22 rifle, a 9mm handgun, and a mosin carbine.
The mosin knocks me around quite a bit and I feel really inaccurate with it, even though I'm only shooting 25-50 yards out. Is it really that hard-kicking of a cartridge/rifle or do I just need to git gud?
>>
>>34916949
Mosins are ass-kickers at first. Takes a while to get used to em, especially the carbines.

Practice more on your .22 so you don't anticipate recoil as much, focus on trigger control.
Remember to shoot your carbine with the bayonet out, they are actually factory zeroed that way and having the bayonet in/out actually changes the point of impact.
If the recoil is too much try a slip over rubber butt pad.
Even then it won't be perfect because it's a mosin, you're shooting open sights and a lot of them are pretty beaten up. Like a Russian M44 is usually going to have seen some shit and probably has a mismatched bolt, barrel pitting and is counter-bored. A Chinese T56 is probably going to be near mint mechanically.
