But it would be very urgent for the worst Koreans to start attriting the Nork artillery, and conduct an air campaign. Otherwise there is no rush if SHTF for the Sorks to march north, they're better off letting the Norks break themselves against the rocks of the DMZ while waiting for US backup and retaliating with marine/para ops once the limited nork supply chain is spent and their main ground forces sufficiently stunted.

The only advantage I see would be that it would be easier to push back the artillery threat on Seoul if you are advancing and pushing the front line northwards. Apart from that it's kinda dumb.

No. Plus the South Korean military is mainly geared towards reacting rapidly to a North Korean incursion, and once the Northern advance is contained pushing it back out. If nukes aren't on the table then I'm rather confident that the ROK would push the KPA's shit in.
