no but for real as a canadian i talked to US navy recruiters and they said i get citizenship once i pass basic but owe the navy 3 years of service. i tool the practice tests and scored high enough for carrier based pilot.

It has been known for Americans to join the British/Canadian/Australian armies. New Zealand no longer takes foreigners, aside from Brits and Australians who have already served in the British Army.

Forget anything requiring a high level of clearance. You'll also have to jump through a lot of hoops, but it is possible. Family connections would help massively.

You'd be better off doing it now, because the NZ Army will love to have you after the fact. Brit Infantry and you're getting at least one of: Belize, Kenya, Germany, Norway, Cyprus, Canada, Falklands as battalion deployments and whatever war they're in next. Smaller deployments are going to even more places. Opportunity for NATO courses, too.

Downsides: Britain isn't as good of a place to live as NZ or Australia. It's expensive and the weather is genuinely bad. The pay is alright though, and you'll fit in with the Kiwi mafia that's present in most large units. If there isn't one, tag along with the South Africans or Australians.

Do a few in the UK and apply for an NZ Army job whilst you're in. They'll lap you up. Big signing bonuses, especially if you've done tours.
