That's not the same gun as they originally intended to release. The dust cover isn't latched onto the gun anymore meaning it could fall off and get lost (it comes off very easily) and you have to remove the handguard now to adjust the gas. Way higher than their original price point too.

Not him, but may I ask why?
I would understand if it's simply because it's a bullpup. At that length why not have 18" or 20" like a RFB.

As for ballistics, 16" has worked for the scar 17s forever, and through some waffle magic, 13" seems to work for the issued ones
>>
>>34915141
What was the original price and what are they now selling it at?
>>
>>34916138
>As of January 4, 2017 the new pricing is:
>d. MDR 7.62 is $2,525
>e. MDR 5.56 is $2,275

https://deserttech.com/blog/mdr-update-january-1-2017/

It was a jump of like $400 IIRC
>>
>>34916138
>>34916176
I found an article dated Dec 2015 that lists the price as 1,999 for the 5.56 and 2,249 for the .308

https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/desert-tech-releases-prices-on-mdr-bullpup/
>>
>>34916176
so it is 10% higher, now that it is being made almost 2yrs later than that article. I can see that 5% increase yr over yr from parts vendors being more expensive and addtl r&d and them wanting to make a lil more per rifle.

Even though I already have a 17s I'd be inclined to get an MDR if it came in 22" 6.5cm as well as 556 and 308. I'm planning on getting a 6.5cm bbl to upgrade from 308 for PRS shooting and if I could choose between either my aiat or a gas gun depending on the comp conditions for the day it'd be nice to have the option. assuming the mdr will be accurate enough for that role.

Ok here's an argument
308 is better in every single way over 5.56 other than weight and recoil. Which manly men are best equipped to deal with, which is why manlets will fanboy over 5.56 to the point of exhaustion, to justify their physical inferiority. I would tell you to suck my dick, but I know my massive masculine penis is far too large to fit considering your tiny, feminine jawline.

Manlets tend to build actually mooscle mass easier, and quicker; if you're a weak manlet, you're fucking living trash.

Its the fucking 6'5" lanky as fuck guys who can't do get shit done, they can't build muscles for shit, and their bones break at the slightest breeze; a stumpy 6'5" is bretty beasty, but they gotta keep up their muscles up sometimes, while the manlets just need to move, and eat a lot.
>>
Why does the stock have ridge lines from additive manufacture?
It looks like some some used a noncommercial 3d printer and couldn't be assed to vapor bath.

Anyways, would getting the Keltec on a labor day sale/labor day period be a good plan?
I want a .308 and a bullpup.

What sort of system does the MDR use? Is it a DI, Gas-Piston? Roller Delayed blowback? Does it have a Roller bolt, or flapper locking?
>>
>>34919211
>KelTec
Rumor is they will be making a .308 version of their RDB. Chances are the RFB will be discontinued. The newer RFB's are supposed to be good, and you can identify them as they come with thermold (yes I know) FAL mags.
>>
>>34918436
>Ok here's an argument
This should be good. Watching meatheads scratch their thick monkey craniums and try to think is always entertaining.

>308 is better in every single way over 5.56 other than weight and recoil.
So it's better in every way except for the things that matter most in modern warfare? Pretty shit argument so far desu. Also you forgot bulk. And flat trajectory. .308 has a longer range overall, but 5.56 has a longer point-blank range. Which means less training, which means more cheaper soldiers quicker. Light recoil contributes to this as well. In a real war, most recruits aren't gonna be gun guys. It's beneficial to have a weapon that they can be quickly trained on without developing bad habits like flinching and pulling shots.

>Which manly men are best equipped to deal with
This is the same retarded argument weebs make to justify characters using retard-hueg swords.

Guess what dick-for-brains: in the real world being stronger actually makes lighter weight gear MORE effective, because you can move even faster for even longer without getting tired, or you can carry even more ammunition. In modern war, mobility and ammunition capacity beat out the raw power of individual rounds. Most rifle fire is suppressing or covering fire anyways. Artillery, airstrikes and grenades do the majority of the actual killing.

And that was the only part that was an argument. Though I think you should talk to your shrink about that penis fixation of yours, that can't be healthy.

>>34916954
You are vastly over simplifying end user desires. Every gun you listed has its own draw. The only bullpup is the KT and it's build quality reflects the price. The MDR is to the KT as the SCAR is to the G3/FAL
>>
>>34921113
>The MDR is to the KT as the SCAR is to the G3/FAL
Which is why I'm waiting for the AR-10 of .308 bullpups: a gun that's better than the cheapo low end, but instead overpriced, overhyped and for faggots like the SCAR.

oh boy, yet another overhyped, overpriced bullpup meme gun.

Oh boy, it's a bullpup but apparently the trigger isn't complete shit. That's definitely something I need to shell out 2500$ for.
>>
>>34912930
Yeah, it took about 1 year from the "release date" for Lel Kek RDBs to come to market in any respectable numbers. We're getting them now pretty frequently for $900 all day though
>>
>>34918907
That isn't the MDR... that's the SRS...
>>
>>34920660
Should I wait for this?
I'm not understanding the difference/reason
>>
>>34920660
>Rumor is they will be making a .308 version of their RDB
That thing is going to have a length of pull so long you'll need to dislocate your arm to shoulder it.

Another reason .308 is pathetic and retarded for anything but DMRs and MGs.
>>
>>34922247
you sound like a fag
>>
>>34921316
The difference is, at least ONE real, existing, and functional lelkek RDB left the warehouse on the "release date".

Same can't be said for the MDR.
>>
>>34916176
So basically if i'm hard set on a bullpup, I should just get a kel-tec rdb?
>>
>>34922277
But I'm not advocating for .308, the round for overcompensating faggots with tiny cocks :^)
>>
>>34922334
Watch Based Ian's video on it. It's probably the best of the current gen bullpups all things considered.
>>
>>34921316
Really? The only rdb I've ever seen is at a lgs but they will only sell it to a leo for some reason. No one I asked at the shop could tell me why. I think they just want to be able to keep it up on the wall.
>>
>>34915478
A bullet is only being accelerated while it is in the barrel of the rifle, after it leaves the muzzle the hot gas behind it escapes and its velocity and KE can only decrease.

A shorter barrel prematurely ends the bullets acceleration and reduces muzzle velocity. Obviously there are diminishing returns with ever longer barrels and past a certain point bullet-to-barrel friction start to reduce the muzzle velocity. .308 has respectable amount of powder and is thus rated with 24" barrels. I have a carbine with a 20" barrel, and that costs me about 100fps which isn't too bad. But if you cut it down to 16" you're starting waste much of the cartridge's energy as muzzle flash.

>>34919173

Weight and recoinl matters most than a biger hole in your enemy.
So, should be adopt .22`s? is lighter and has an even softer recoil for your delicate shoulders...
