I've got a very important question for /k/:
Alright, so I just got into the whole AR bullshit thing. I was in the Army over a decade ago, and I swear on all things good and holy I remember pic related being called a "bolt carrier assembly".
When the hell did this change? Why did this change? Or did it not change and I'm just an idiot with a defective memory?

I think because the word "assembly" in it confuses stupid people, ie almost everyone.
