How exactly are you going to use a flashlight as a self-defense tool? Are you going to blind them with 1000 lumens then beat them with the bezel?

I've actually stopped a dog mid-charge by strobing him. Granted that only worked because it was getting dark out, the ability to make an attacker hesitate for a second could make a world of difference. Strobing also works surprisingly well for swatting flies...

This is a viable strategy, however not with that puny flash light. Loaded up with batteries the mag lite is an apt tool for playing nigger whack-a-mole with, it even has blood resistant seals!
