Nogunz here
Big firearms fan but I don't get go shooting nearly as much as I like because my dad owns all the guns I've ever shot. Looking to buy one of my own but I'm kinda torn as to what I want.
A handgun sounds great because there's a small indoor range not 5 minutes from my house. Plus being able to take classes and CC would be nice too. If I were to get a handgun I think I'd want a Ruger Security-Six in .357 with a 4 inch barrel, I dig old-ish revolvers.
I really like the idea of a tacticool semi auto shotgun like a Saiga because there are so many fun varieties of shotgun ammo and I could just load up mags full of whichever ammo type and label each mag appropriately. There's a gunshop around me selling an Eksen MKA 1919 for $575 so that's a possibility (Pic related).
As for rifles, I like old ones so some kind of bolt action with character or reproduction FAL would be applicable I think. I really like the Kel-Tec SUB 2000s too, but I'd want one in 9mm that takes Glock mags so I can stick a 32 rounder in there, plus they're probably let me shoot it at the pistol range near my house. Unfortunately those are the most desirable kind so they're hard to come by.
What should I consider when making my decision?

Unfortunately shotgun shells are not all that reliable out of a box mag. I looked at the same style of gun for my first and ultimately went with a 9mm pistol. Obviously you will make the final decision. Just read up on reliability and learn to find a lot least a second if not a third opinion.

Something that I can shoot recreationally that would also work well as tacticool weapon.
