I had no words, I think sandy hook was still fairly recent, and she had the audacity to ask me that in front of the whole class in such a tasteless manner. I never caused trouble my during my stay in high school and I was pretty appalled on how inappropriate of a question to ask, and to embarrass me like that too.
A year or two later I also had an intervention about simply liking guns at the thanks giving family reunion. My immediate family owns guns, and is cool with it at least.

Nah I'm sure some people thought I might be, but mainly cause I was just shy and cared too much about looking like an idiot to talk to people I didn't know.

when i was in 11th grade me and my group were assigned the usa civil war as a subject on history. The media, school admins, and society constantly portray gun owners in such a manner. Not realizing they are alienating and hurting the very people they didn't want to piss of in the first place.

They used to do canine drug sweeps of the property to weed out the druggies and stuff, one day im out in the parkinglot sitting in my truck watching said cop and doggo snoop around, after a while the cop comes up and informs me that the dog keeps hitting on my vehicle, i say ok and we talk a bit, he asks if I have drugs or druggie friends, answer no. Then he mentions the dogs can detect guns and explosives. "Oh thats why officer, i have a shotgun behind the seat!"

He says ok and asks to run the serial against stolen weapons database, i oblige because he was nice anxand never even asked for id. Says ok and tells me he is legally required to inform super intendant of school because im on their property, i say ok.

I was a little ball of anger...in middle school. Not a lot of people knew because I kept to myself, but I'd probably be pegged as a potential shooter if they knew more.

I told a councelor that I wished I had a gun so I should shoot people if they were being mean to me. I'm still surprised I wasn't sent to some sort of therapy for that (I probably would be today).

Was the ackward skinny kid, whos lack of any confidence made it worse. Mother hated me, for looking like my father, stepfatehr was mostly the type to be way controlling, not let me go many places or tell me all my friemds secretly made fun of me (he was right by the way)
Sophomore year of high school, a girl who was not attractive, but very popular asked me out, I figured it was a trap, said no.
Was made fun of for it by all the other girls.
She asked again, said yes. The LAUGHS about this, because it was a trap were had, and it was filmed by another girl.
Thought about the mass murder plan, as this was never just an episode in the never ending at show by this point.
Realized a better way.
Stole some old homework written by her, and by the very attractive guy every girl in my school liked.
Learned to copy each ones hand writing pretty well.
Wrote a note from him to her, saying if she liekd him he would break up,with his knockout of a girl.
Note from her to him cinfessing her love, and that she wants to kill his girl.
Nite from him to her went in her locker, through the grate.
Her note got turned into the anonymous tip box the school counselor had.
She went crazy to talk to him in the hall, he was clueless to why. Tip note found, after they git into a shouting match.
She got suspended, and referred to police for death threats.
Parents never trusted her again.
Kicked off sports teams, hated by most people.
Never told this story before, as I'm now 26 (was 14 then), a veteran, married, decent job and certainly not the wimp I was, or lacking in confidence and im not sure if I was justified to ruin her that much.

No, I used to draw John Browning's guns in my notebooks and read military books all the time, and the day I turned 18 I bought a cheap Chinese SKS and talked about it with my history teacher and band director. Both of them were gun owners and would talk to me about guns after that all the time until I graduated. I bought a Czech Mauser from my history teacher after I was out of school, we talked about it "hypothetically" when I was still a senior but waited until after I was out so he wouldn't get in trouble (not sure if he would or not but we didn't want to take any chances).

It was in a military town though and they were both retired Navy guys so that's probably a big part of why it wasn't weird.

I've been sent to in school alternative for a terroristic threat in middle school. Basically got bullied way to hard for a month straight and snapped when some dumb ghetto bitch threaten to have me killed over gang shit that I was not even affiliated with. Proceeded to say a bunch of dumb shit out of anger and threaten to kill her and other people.
I was the odd kid out for the whole school because I was a black kid that actually took education serious. The blacks, the mexicans, the nerds, the jocks and the few whites didn't want to talk or associated with me since I was much more advance in my education from Germany.
Alternative was a blast though. I got further ahead then everyone else in my grade thorough self education, had free double launch because there was a girl who never wanted to eat hers, I had enough personal experience to write an hour long stand up due to the characters that I shared that semester with. Some stunted little black kid that had full ADHD and would moan like a girl in class. Just a random bunch of the funny stereotypes.
After I got out I was alone for two months. People would scatter when I sat down at one of a table. I spent a lot of time in the library. Even was hunted by the people who bullied me in hopes they can jump me. Funny that they threw me into advance classes after it all when i specifically requested them since I started. Probably would of never happen if I was put with the smarter kids but once again the rumors got there and I was the only black kid. Pretty much was alone there and even they made my time there fucking hell where I nearly had another moment. Ended up slamming one of those thick plastic pens and causing it to shatter across a whole room.

HS was odd because I ended up hanging with what would be consider the /trash/. We were all the smart kids that didn't conform and pretty much a bunch of weebs and autist. People still feared me though and even went as far to tell other teachers there.

I learned recently when talking to a teacher I was friends with that I was on a special "Potentially Dangerous Student" list since freshman year, due to habits recorded as early as 5th grade. no school shooting, but when I was in national service another fresh conscript in another base did an hero. Some time after that some asshole took my unrelated joke + a separate incident where I voiced how keeping all the guns in a vault is pointless when there's always a rifle or two in a rifle rack that just about anyone could access with the duty officer's keys, added his own twists to the story until it was unrecognizeable & reported it to the instructors. When I was questioned about those things the story was so unrecognizeable that I had no idea what they were talking about & of course this meant I was lying: psych eval & the process of kicking me out started & all but finished before i could even get to the shrink doing the eval, *not* the proper way of doing things, but once the psych eval had been conducted things got back on the right track, a bit too late but still. From there I invoked my right to plead my case in front of the base commander & he agreed that my company commander was a retard, but he couldn't risk letting me serve, instead I was given a 24 month postponement & sent to another shrink for another evaluation on government's expense before being called in front of a review board who immediately agreed to send me back in another base in the very next batch.

Everything went well in the new unti untilcertain asshole somehow found out about what had happened in the last unit, tricked me into running along with his morbid joke & then reported it as *my* morbid joke to the instructors (who knew about the incident in my last unit), only this time I was able to recall the events & the instructors believed me, though they seemed to think it was just an unfortunate misunderstanding (it was not.)

This was during the height of school shooting scares (then again I wasn't in school during Sandy Hook). We were a pretty smart school and had two turbo autists who actually got kicked out for making specific, substantiated threats. I just looked scary and was into anarchism and stuff (before it was cool) so I got shit for it. There were several "marked days" where there were rumors of a shooting. Some kids would paint targets on their shirts or wear a piece of paper with one drawn on because lol. We never did experience a shooting, but someone did bomb the cafeteria (he actually made a homemade chemical bomb and tossed it in a trash can, several people spent the whole summer in the hospital due to respiratory distress). It ended being a football Chad who did it as "just a prank bro."

In retrospect, after witnessing the full power of memes, I think that song "pumped up kicks" being popular at the time had something to do with all those shootings, in a gay spiritual way.

Yes. I played a lot of games as a kid (Doom II, Command and Conquer), school counselor freaked, literally told my parents I would be the next 'columbine kid' and tried to get them to drug me. I was put into a 'special' class without their knowledge which consisted of the weird German foreign exchange student, the retarded Indian girl, social reject 1 and 2 and myself. Yeah, I feel you, when I was 17 in HS I told my mom how I was interested in milsurp and when I turn 18 I pan to buy some old rifles... she threatened to kick me out of the house for being a crazy school shooter. I was bullied since I was in grade 1. In grade 7 I was at the point where I hated pretty much anyone and even people I just met would only have to do something as simple as misspell an easy to spell word, or talk to me in a certain tone, or look at me in a certain way, and I'd already hate them. Of course it's hard to get by being so hateful so I learned to conceal my edgelord tier hatred in passive aggressiveness.
By the time I was in grade 9 I ended up spending my every waking moment planning how I'd kill them, make it look like an accident, make it look like I was a victim who managed to survive by luck, etc. and since I was quite smart it didn't impact my grades much. Ultimately I came to the conclusion that using a methane/air stoichiometric ratio mixture explosion that I could kill everyone at once during a school assembly and so I researched for countless hours how to acquire methane, how I could create a device to pierce the methane canister on multiple side simultaneously in order to quickly distribute the gas through the room before detonating it before anyone has time to wonder what's going on. I figured that I could drop it from the gymnasium ceiling utilizing a device which will take advantage of the impact to pierce all sides at once then either a flare gun or another object to drop detonating the gas mixture.
By grade 12 my plan was complete, I had discovered a way to buy a suitably sized container of pressurized methane, drafted out my design for the object to detonate it, figured out how to construct it using my limited skills, figured out how to get it to the ceiling, and figured out how I would play victim and cover up any evidence that I was responsible (the sole reason I took Law in high school)
It was the perfect crime created after 3 and a half years of planning. So why didn't I go through with it? I got over my edgelord phase and found Jesus. No joke. I'd be the 2nd worst terrorist ever at age 17 without Jesus.

I remember back in high school me and two friends used to wear Yugoslavian milsurp every now and then for shits and giggles. We even got some red berets to complete the look too. Apparently some freshman overheard us talking about guns and other /k/ related material, took a picture of us and had shown it to her parents. The day we got called to the office we were in full uniform and the kids parents were there and flipped their shit. They went on a little rant about the "perpetuation of violence in our society and blah blah blah." We just stared and waited for them to finish. After a short silence I got up, straightened my beret and said " I'm sorry but it is our duty to remove kebab were ever they may be". The mother screamed at me saying people like me are why this world is so messed up and that I was a "complete sack of shit" and proceeded to try and grab my beret. Due to the loud shenanigans the school resource officer (who was a total bro) walked in to see the mother trying to slap my beret off my head but instead slapping me in the face. I got to watch two hippies forcefully removed from school grounds. Afterwards we bought another red beret with officer chillbro's name on it and presented it to him as an award for "loyal service." Looking back on some of the stupid shit that happened in high school, that was the most memorable.
