Does anyone know anything about Navy AIRR? I tried out for SEAL but I couldn't get selected for a contract. However, they offered me an AIRR contract and I need to ship out ASAP.
How is it? How is daily life as a rescue swimmer? I don't hear about shit crashing too often so what does a rescue swimmer ( or typical crewmen ) on a Seahawk do?
You should really ask this in /meg/

Did you try getting a SWCC contract?

I qualified for everything except SO - I can't seem to get picked up for the monthly draft.

Go Navy, everyone wants to be coast guard rescue swimmer. You'll be waiting on average two years doing nothing but menial labor at a base. Sure you'll learn shit there and be a regular coastie but you wont be doing what you want till at least 1 year into your term.

You need to score higher on your PSTs, get a letter of rec or two from some Seal officers and have patience. Even if it means waiting another 2 years before you get a contract, going to the Seals is 50000% better than compromising your ambitions.
fucking trust me dude.

Depends on the variant of Seahawk (Sierra/Romeo).
Guys on 60R's do ASW shit. Operating sonar equipment, dropping sonobuoys, shooting the machine gun.
Guys on 60S do more VERTREP shit and shoot machine guns. If I'm right, Sierra guys do a little more rescue practice than their Romeo counterparts.
