I consider Hi-Points serviceable. Their Warranty is the tits, though. No questions, no receipts, no original owners, send it in and get all the shit fixed AND a free magazine. I like the idea, the only issue I have with em is the magazine. But hell, at any point in my life I could afford a Hi-Point... any gun is better than no gun.

I have a C-9 and a G43.

The G43 is objectively nicer looking. I expected that I would stop using the C-9 after I got i.

I haven't. I like the weight, it handles recoil well, it's fun to shoot at the range. It's ugly and sort of embarrassing but I just don't give a shit.

Honestly it's a lot less embarrassing than having to cherry-pick the time one jammed (because no Glock/Springfield/HK etc. has ever jammed) to justify a handgun that looks better but is probably less reliable.

Part of the reason the C9 looks so shitty is because it's super simple and rugged. It's as close to the AK of handguns as you can get.

tl;dr you're too worried what people will think of you, just get a c9 and have fun, or don't, who the fuck cares what other people shoot

I won't buy one, but I certainly understand why the HiPoint exists. Sure, they're ugly as sin and hilariously inefficient, size wise. But jesus they work, the customer service is great, and they're dirt cheap.

My hipoint was more reliable than my Kel-Tec. Mind you I sold them both, but I kept the hipoint longer. At this point though, I have better made handguns for carry and duty use.
