Texan here. Texas is pretty much shit. Not even /k/ friendly. Sure you can buy and own pretty much whatever you want, but good fucking luck finding a place to shoot. Virtually no public land to shoot on. Fortunately my wife's family has land that I can shoot on because the ranges nearby are shit. Just a 25 yard indoor or a 100 yard outdoor that won't allow fmj rifle ammo.

It is fuck hot in the summer there isn't much natural beauty to enjoy, and people drive like assholes. The food is good, though.

I remember the guy on Primary/Secondary telling the story how a girl's ex tried to drag him out of the house and put him in a trunk. The ex was fucking huge, so the guy ended up grabbing a knife and stabbing the ex 20 times (body, neck, face) before the ex decided to let him go.

Then they get to court, and despite testimony that the ex had told everyone in the bar that he planned to abduct the guy, the judge still sent the guy with the knife to prison for 5 years. Judge's reasoning was that no innocent man stabs someone 20 times. Dude with the knife didn't get cleared of the crime until after he got out and put his case in front of another judge.

My 2 takeaways are that even people without common sense can get a judgeship and fuck knives. If you're going to court for murder, better hope it's self defense with a gun.
