There's nothing wrong with AR500...anymore.
A while ago, some of their steel plates were failing under really obnoxious tests that pushed the steel to the very limits.

But they changed their manufacturing process and no longer have those issues.
There has never been a problem with their PCs.

Honest question, me and 2 friends are going innawoods during winter for 3 days, and basically are just gonna larp as stalkers. I have some shit bdus and a black plate carrier with level III's, but honestly i want a full matching set of something functional that will hold up to cold temperatures
Where is a good place to buy well made repros or actual surplus of slavshit for a decent price? I'd like a uniform, heavy winter coat or parka, plate carrier, helmet/winter hat and a good large backpack/rucksack and any bits of armor or gear that actual soldiers would wear. Boots and supplies to put in pack i have covered.

(Also, second dumb question, is there body armor out there for shoulders, groin and sides of body? Ive seem it in pictures but all i can find online is just front and back armor.)

It wasnt necessarily the plates i was after but a good enough carrier. My budget is probably $500 this month. I have a hard time buying without trying on things to see if i like the fit. The cut on the Bundeswehr surplus clothing is much comfier than the Belgian surplus stuff. I know there's Belgian surplus fleck out there, but the German pants/shirt/parka are almost as comfy as Cryes (which is to say they're very comfy). Fleck also looks cooler than jigsaw, and based tacticool daddy says what matters most is looking cool.

The thing is, camo works because it's consistent over the human body and its profile..once you throw something in there that contrasts the first pattern you just fuck your concealment to hell.

I jumped on the AR500 deal also. Am aware of the memes. They've fixed their shit. Didn't get a condor PC, got the "guardian", which is one of their own designs. It's pretty minimalistic, but for my first rig, that's fine. Also upgraded to the level III+ with extra spall protection. Also got trauma pads, holster, mag pouches, and an armor hanger for just over $300. Plan on using it for bodyweight exercises, carbine classes, and general innawoods larping.

What are some essentials for a bug out bag? I got a 42in long by 22in wide water resistant duffel bag. Right now I have about 1,500rd of 5.56 and 700rd of 9mm spread across 4 tins. AFIK and about 40 pouches of tuna in those easy open pouches. Cheap and last a long time without need for a tool or cooking. Around $2,000 in cash and 4 spare pistol magazines and carry handgun.

It is a bit heavy but nothing that cannot be shouldered if I needed to get out as quickly as possible and not need to go looking for bits and ends.

What's everyone's opinion of the Spiritus Systems Micro Fight setup? I was originally looking at the D3CR as a sort of "all in one" rig, but this looks way more modular and will let me swap between rifle mags of various types (AK 7.62/5.45, AR, G3) and also redo the whole thing for use with MP5/Scorpion mags too. Plus, if I'm seeing this right, I can attach a Velocity Systems SwiftClip kit to my PC and have the option of removing the whole thing to use as a chest rig at a moment's notice.

The other option I was considering was a setup with something like G-Code Scorpions, HSGI Tacos, or Emdom Universal pouches, but the Spiritus setup looks a lot more scalable, at the cost of magazine pouch rigidity for re-storing mags. First Spear Multimags look good too, but they're also significantly more expensive.

Thoughts? Mostly just looking for ammo carrying at the moment; IFAK will be a separate purchase once I get some medical training and will probably go on my belt instead.
