I'm 6'
Lifting for over a decade now. Was on fit for most of that time. Only stopped browsing fit once I got to Uni because I honestly didn't need it anymore.

/fit/ is part of /k/. The the type of shooting I enjoy most is the running and gunning drilling. Sprinting and shooting.

I also just enjoy hiking with the guns, or as my reserve buddy says, taking the guns for a walk.

I encourage all /k/ommandos to work on their least expensive, most powerful, and most useful tool; their body.

I would like to think that the majority of all /k/ommandos are in shape, but it appears that most firearms enthusiasts care only for weapons as mechanical possessions to be appreciated (like cars), rather than functional tools that require a high level of personal fitness to function at an optimal level.

I'm 6' and realized one day I was 225 pounds and nearly 30% body fat. So then I changed my diet and ate at a defecit and dropped to 175 pounds.
Now I'm on a lifting and excercise routine where I workout 3 days a week, and am eating a ~300 calories a day excess so I can build some muscle.

Honestly it hasn't been that hard once I just started doing it, and now that I've started seeing and feeling the results it's a lot easier to motivate myself. I got to 225 and realized I was getting fat and needed to change, I'll never understand how people let themselves get obese.

That's coordination and doing a pull up is all about relative bodyweight. I can do pull ups/frogs/Lsits, but deadlift 385; My roommate can not do pull ups/frogs/Lsits, but deadlifts 460. This is because he is a 300lb fatass and I'm 180 soaking wet, and I developed the skill (neuromuscular patterns) to be coordinated enough to do basic gymnastics. Not because he has "helium filled bodybuilder gym muscles" and I have "superior calisthenics muscles"

I lift & do kickboxing for cardio. I used to pretty much just lift and got pretty bulky, peaked at a bench of 150kg, then tore my rotator cuff in Jiu Jitsu and it's never been the same. Float around the 100-110kg mark now.

Can leg press 430kg though. Started as helping with kicking power, ended up as a bit of an obsession.

I don't really see the point in running outside the 5k range. Running isn't really the main focus in my training, I just use it to help keep some leanness while maintaining a diet that's conducive to strength training. The physiques of people who are serious distance runners are usually very underwhelming (ex. look at the body of any championship Olympic runner competing at 5k or greater; they look like shit and would get broken in half by any fighter with decent body mass).

if you aren't /fit/, you aren't a /k/ommando. period. end of story. nothing makes me more pissed off than these landwhales who think their ccw is gonna save them in any sort of happening. you need strength, you need agility, you need endurance. unless you can squat 3 plates ATG FOR REPS, bench 2 plates FOR REPS, and deadlift 1.5X body weight FOR REPS, while still being able to run 2 miles in <15 min, you're a fucking pussy. i simply cannot respect a man who doesn't respect his own body. no excuses. you can do pushups, pullups, situps, and run FOR FREE. you can do these things ANYWHERE. you can do fork put downs and get your fucking diet in order FOR FREE.
