Hey /k/ for 5.56x45 if you aim at a target at 200yds coming out of an m16 you pretty much have to put the aiming reticle on bulls eye right? And lets say at 600yds how much should you compensate for distance?
Depends on ammunition and the guns barrel length, just look up the drop of specific ammunition on a search engine

He said m16, so 20in.
Let's assume m855, which is a 62gr fmj bullet moving at ~3000fps
Anon, the "zero" of a sight (where point of aim and point of impact are the same) is adjusted to a given range. You could zero your sight at 5 yards or 800 yards.

is it zeroed at 200 yards?
It would depend on zeroing which is ideally capable of being set on the fly for whatever range you need.
Getting hit by 5.56 gotta be scary af. dat tumble and hydrostatic shock
If it's zerod at 50 yards then yes, more or less.

Depends on your zero, bullet, and muzzle velocity, plus some external ballistic factors like temperature.

also per my ballistic table if we're talking 62 gr M855 with a 50 yard zero you are looking at 66.6 inches of holdover.
