I want to get the cheapest possible salt rifle because I sold my AR a while ago to move and now I'm stable and need something other than my Glocc. Should I buy

>C308
>RAS47
>AMD65
>Complete AR lower and then a 3-400 dollar complete PSA upper

The AR is the most full proof and likely to not be a piece of shit at a low price point these days, but I'm sick of ARs. I've seen good reviews on C308s, and mixed reviews on RAS47s/AMD65s.

Where, Century's website?

Don't buy them, they're handbombs.

>AMD65
Can sometimes be passable.

Honestly just save up and buy something entrylevel like an M&P-15, it's not hard to find for $400 new.

They're actin incredulous because the C308 has gotten a pretty horrible reputation, as Century builds do, of parts breakage (sights and firing pins, the latter causing at least one rifle to fire every time it chambered a round), as well as widely varying groups, some rifles shoot a pretty decent 3 MOA, but some shoot obscene 6 MOA groups, and that's just not acceptable.

Get a GP WASR-10.

There was a deal on Sportman's Guide on them for 550 bucks a little while ago, probably not going on now though. If you've got your heart set on something that's not an AR, I'd start there.

Don't get a C308 or an RAS47, those are unreliable pieces of shit. If you want a full sized, well made battle rifle for cheap, I'd go no less than a ptr-91 GI R. It's about $1000, but the milsurp mags are the cheapest of any semiauto around, and you'll make your savings there.
>>
>>34884326
this, ras47's are trash
>>
On the AK side, get a WASR-10 if you want to save money or an Arsenal if you want better quality
>>
>>34883744
I'd get an AMD65 and save some $$ for a non-shit furniture set.
>>
>thread full of no one who owns a C308.

C308 is pretty good. I like mine.
>>
>>34884291
I heard all sorts of awful things about polymer lowers and PSA upper but my AR survived multiple classes and 4,000 rounds. I am just starting to believe that muh reliability is a meme and everything manufactured (or assembled in the case of a c308) by a company other than Jimenez or Raven or something will at least be serviceably reliable and fire just fine under normal circumstances. It's turning into James Yeager tier "Anything that's not a Glock, AR, AK or 870 will blow up in your hands I've never had anything else make it through a class blah blah" horseshit.

Mediocre, better than Century's last stab at an HK91/CETME clone but still not great.

>RAS47
holy shit no

>AMD65
Looks like a good deal on paper, but Sweaty Ben's build quality is garbage and the barrels they use have a hardness roughly 1/5th of what an AK barrel hardness should be.

>Complete AR lower and 3-400 dollar complete PSA upper
Sadly, likely to be the most cost-effective option. Just don't get an upper from the Freedom line.

If you really want an AK - and it sounds like you do - just get a WASR. Centerfire Systems has them on flash sale for $540 shipped right now. https://www.centerfiresystems.com/p-545-romanian-wasr-10-ak-47-762x39-rifle-with-bayonet-lug.aspx

That's not even what I'm talking about, there are polymer AR lowers that are The Real Shit and which don't suck and don't break.

I'm just saying, the C308 and the RAS47 are AIDS and not worth your money.

>>34883744
buy a WASR 10 or an N-PAP
>>
>>34884326
Solid post. I'm probably just gonna pick up a WASR because they're back where they should be and I need an AK
