Looking to get a Scorpion and a brace. What brace is most comfy to shoot and shoulder? Debating between KAK Shockwave and the SBT EVO but I dont know if it is worth the extra money for the SBT EVO just for folding ability. Thoughts everyone?
Shock wave on a lage adadptor.
Look up the tail hook for the Evo, it has the factory folding stock minus the buttpad with some tailhook brace thats adjustable for LOP, closest you will get to the real thing

Lage adapter looks pretty sweet! That might be just what I need.

I have the Shockwave on an AR and it's very nice. Stiff and sturdy plus a set screw to keep it where you want it.

These are too pricey imo and look terrible. Im sure they function great but i dont care for it personally. MAC runs a zhukov stock on his and i think that would perfect.

Is it comfortable shooting with 5.56? I hear people complain that it is sharp since it is so thin but figure they are pussies and will especially be a non-issue with 9mm.

Haven't noticed any discomfort even when mag dumping. It's a 14.5" with Knight's Armament quad rails on it which gives it a little weight, though.
The main thing is that it doesn't spin around like the original Sig brace did. I'd rather it hurt than do a 180 on me. Plus the set screw for length of pull is amazing as well. Maybe the newer braces solve these problems.
However there's the issue of the ATF addressing certain braces by name in their letter and the Shockwave not being one of them. Shouldering it may not be legal.
Bought my Scorpion last Saturday, first mod was this HB industries rail. Tail hook seems like the best bet if it was a pistol.

That is a good point about ATF specifically addressing some brands. Think SBT EVO was one of them...

I have the KAK shockwave on the factory CZ adapter. It's comfy.
>>34884719
Literally a link on the first page of KAK's website saying shouldering is OK per ATF

Look badass anon. I think I will get the shockwave the get lage adapter later

shockwave blade fuckin kills me on my 8.5" 300 BLK AR pistol, but, I freely admit that I'm a sissy.

do whatever youd like but that letter is dated 2014, when they first came out irrc.
what happened was shortly after the shockwave and other braces came out, the atf reversed their previous statement about braces in general. basically, all the bs about if you intend to fire it from the shoulder, its redesigning. of course, nobody really cares, they still shouldered it anyway, atleast in private.
only recently, the atf changed their minds again, but this time naming ONLY the sig braces as kosher.
pic kind of unrelated, its a brace protector, kek
>>34885839
ATF said that brace protector makes it an SBR. "Redesign"
Tailhook
>>34885966
Any words from ATF on this?
>>34885270
That doesn't sound like solid confirmation and neither does the message on their home page. If going to shoulder might just need to go the SB route.
>>34883691
I got the SBT Evo brace, breddy comfy, and the cz scorpion evois fun as hell
The idiocy on here is rampant.
Pick any brace you want for your pistol. Don't modify it. Shoulder the fuck out of it as you please.
1, The ATF can send out any letter they want to try to intimidate or bully people, but they don't make laws, especially laws that are completely unenforceable.
2, There's nothing in current written law that would make a case for any prosecutors who actually tried to bring charges on anyone for simply shouldering an unmodified arm brace.

I honestly like the look of the SBT Evo brace more than the factory stock. If someone made a quality full-fledged stock version in the same design and also made it so that it latches under the right side magwell like the factory stock does, I'd be all over that shit. Makes the gun look like a common man's UMP.
>>34886335
hmm, listen to a stranger on the Internet and maybe face 10 years in prison or take the safe route and listen to what the atf has stated, hard choice.
>>34886119
Does the strap ever get in the way or feel uncomfortable? That was my main concern but with the ATF approval and folding ability it might be the only option.
>>34889420
No there's a rubber base that keeps the strap in place
>>34883691
>Scorpion
Good choice, anon.
So it was confirmed by the atf that we can shoulder braces, correct?
>>34884765
sex.
>>34893311
as long as that's not your intent when you install it.
>>34893529
Like anyone would admit their intent.
>>34893178
OP here. I just bought today for $679. Did I do good /K/?
>>34895441
