I live by myself in a house in a not great area. I think it's reasonable to have a gun with me at all times at home.

How many tv and movie plots would have never gone down if the main characters had weapons ready to go?

I had to consciously focus on not walking funny to try and compensate for my gun at 3 o'clock. I got really shitty at how much lube I had on it. It stained my shirt.

Now I carry Appendix 80% of the time and leave my gun pretty much dry to prevent oil and grease on my skin and clothes. I know it will fire dry short term. If it is fired dry and saves my life damaging anything in the process, I'll happily replace it with another one.

Guns modern guns don't go off without pulling the trigger (recent sig striker pistols excluded, lol). Most DAO revolvers have super long trigger pulls. If you are carrying with a holster that covers the trigger guard will be fine.
