> I don't understand the concept of why you don't fire guns inside a space ship, the post.
> Alternatively, I don't understand that Legend was aping the fuck out of age of sail nonsense, and boarding axes were the shit.
Generally you don't want projectile weapons poking holes in your pressurized tin cans
>>34866567
Seffle particles make the use of firearms and lasers too dangerous. And chances are the kind of guns that can penetrate an armored spacesuit aren't the kind of things you should be using liberally inside of a ship.

There's been a pretty big overlap the past week or so. There were those two big Gundam threads that lasted all the way up to the 300 post mark.

Schrodinger's round exists in all possible and, if that angle is anything to go by, some impossible states.
In the novels it's said that they use axes because the armor has anti-beam coating that makes laser weapons ineffective, and using kinetic weapons inside of a ships hull is too dangerous.
They use crossbows for the same reason because they lack the velocity to create a breach.
>UC 794
>alliance implying they will ever take iserlohn.
Yes they are retarded.
>>34866567
When you have armor thick enough to repel essentially any hand held small arms then you might as well resort to something that can smash though that armor, in which is might as well be melee.
>>34867900
Spaghetti everywhere
>>34866612
Except all the time people shot at those armored men INSIDE the ship trying to stop them with based Reuental headshooting two trough the visor.
We only saw the armor getting pierced by small arms one time and it was when the big negro guy died saving Julian

LOGH is maybe the major compendium of politics war and opera music ever created.

Fucking aces, thanks senpai

LOGH really is the best anime ever.
>>34869815
hidive is streaming it officially if you want the legal option.
>>34869735
Be aware that these battles are still a minor part of the show, most of it is politicking, political dialogues, planning, space history, and classical music.
Still very top-tier for an anime, though.
>>34869698
Every time I see things like this I'm left with one pressing question.
Why no space suits?
>>34870411
That depends on what you're asking.
If you mean space suits for boarding actions/frogmen missions against enemy ships, it's impossible due to sheer engagement ranges (usually in the 5-15 light-second range).
If you mean spacesuits in general for repairs/ship deployment/etc. they have those (See the Retriever gaiden series), but fuels and engines are too limited for anything other than what suits can accomplish now. Even tether cables are not much better then than they are now.
If you mean for ship crews so that they can depressurize their ships in combat to minimize explosive decompressions, life-support systems are not that advanced to be able to do so, and there literally aren't enough suits to go around for all of the crew members. Air supplies on suits are also fairly limited at that point in time as well.

On the odd chance you are not trolling. Legends of the Galactic Heroes is one of the best space operas ever committed to fiction very detailed and extremely entertaining as long you're not a mong.

The armor were made for protection against energy weapons. And as stated earlier by an anon, kinetic weapon managed to take effect in penetrating it, including fucking arrows in crossbows. I figure a frangible round of a standard heavy/dense metal would still have enough velocity to penetrate the armor and still be safe enough to not penetrate the cabin due to the loss of velocity and energy expended on the target
