Skeletonized ARs can't even justify themselves when you ignore cost. The liability in operation isn't worth it. There are alternative lightweight lowers that won't expose the internals, they're only thinned in non-critical areas but left closed up, and sometimes using lighter metals. One of those plus carbon fiber parts will get all the light weight with none of the holes
