so i've been looking lately for 10/22 and i hit the wall.
Every model on ruger website has its number, but my local gun shops websites have them described as DSP, FS, RPF, TDT, TD or TBBZCP.
Could somebody help to explain it to me and pick the right model?
Just go into the store and buy the one you think is cool

The only difference between these two is the stock, isn't it?

go to gun.deals on a fdesktop browser, search "ruger 10/22" and select "group by model"
this will separate models by their model number and you can examine their differences that way

one has sling mounts, one doesn't

Stop being a fucking sperg. Go in and tell them what you want. If they invent some backwoods naming convention then they should be able to correlate A to B for you.

ALWAYS get the model with sling mounts. Hasty sling hold is your friend.
Get the 10/22 synthetic Carbine version

unless it's a take down and you want any degree of precision.
From a rest I'm getting 5 in groups at 75 yds. I used to shoot precision 22 competitively, it's not me. Avoid the take down. It's cool. I love how it carries back and forth. But it's not accurate enough for me.
