It should've been in spec then. Next time, if something like that doesn't fit, then use a pair of calipers to check the diameter of the tube and the inner dimensions of the stock. You could've just sandpapered the inside of the stock until it fit on the tube. Don't try to smash it on there with a sledgehammer like a mongoloid.
