Not the same guy but specters are heavy as shit, the zero can be lost when you switch magnification (according to the internet at least, only used fixed power ones so haven't ezperienced it), and the light transmission isn't great if you have to shoot in low light conditions.

My entire Brigade has ACOGs in Baghdad in 2007. They are absolute money, I only witnessed 1 of them shatter and I believe it was dropped off of a truck or from the top of the guard tower. Positively IDing a shooter or weapon at any distance past 200m can be impossible but the ACOG helps tremendously

I used to. Then I found out variable power optics were a thing, sold it to some GI cosplayer for the same money it cost me, and never looked back.
It's a good combat optic that won't shit the bed on you, but the same money will get you much better glass nowadays (or if you insist on fixed power optics, you can buy an equivalent to the ACOG for much less).

Only a fool doesn't take advantage of modern optics technology. I was a fudd in 2003. In 2017 the only modern rifles that don't have optics are the ones I can't afford to buy them for yet.
