I won a bid on this "hardly fired" AR 15 from a pawn shop on Gunbroker for $1,000. What are the chances it's either good, or just a lemon they sold immediately after finding out its inaccuracy? how hard might it be to fix? Did I rip myself off? It's made by Viking Armaments, and chambered in 6.5 Grendel. Viking offers affordable and nice custom pieces if you've bought a rifle from them, so I figured i'd take my chance and learn how to fix lemons if it's a piece of shit.
This will be my first semi-auto.

Sounds like you made a good choice
>>
I've heard that in order of what affects accuracy most, first of all is the shooter's fitness/experience. Then the trigger (with Timney, Jewel or Shillen being great options), stock bedding, barrel, cartridge, and finally... optics. Is this true?
>>
>>34837675
i've been told by a lot of shooters that the gun is more accurate than you are. as long as he gets a good optic and zeroes it properly that thing should fire great.
>>
I thought I might be taking advantage of the fact that this pawn dealer had not much idea on the value of this custom brand.
I have also heard that, most guns upon the shelves of gun stores are either over priced, or inaccurate (especially if used, hence why they're there). I've heard a Gunsmith say that you'll never find an "accurate" long distance rifle on a gun shelf, because if they were accurate they'd be sold already or in use (aside from pretested brands like Tikka). Is there much weight to this?

What the fuck is up with that trigger?
>>
Oh lol, it's this seller. I see that fucking blanket all the god damn time while scrolling through listings.

What do you really consider a good optic for an AR-15? I was looking into the Strike Eagle 1-8x because of the crystal clarity and modest price, but the lack of mil dot sight is a big let down. I am looking to frequently shoot between 1 and 400 yards with this.

you can shoot out to 400 yards with irons if you train enough.

some kind of custom light trigger Viking sells. It's supposedly pretty gud. you should look at their engraving on some of the guns though. If this one's accurate, i'm gunna get him to engrave it more.

True, but not if you have a lemon gun with 3 MOA at just 200 yards.

Anybody else think I did ok? Anyone have personal experiences fixing up lemons? How much tinkering and cost did it take?

This gun is a lemon I bought it a year ago then sold it to a pawnshop.
It doesn't shot the MOA, FTE (that's failure to eject) and FTF (Face to face) left and right, magazine after magazine.
I'm so sorry op. Here is a cute anime girl in to calm you.
