This is important to do because by forcing them to learn the basics you're forcing them to decide if shooting is truly enjoyable and worthy of their time.

Thus you end up with less people like in OP's picture, who shoot the gun maybe once or twice and are really only there to take social media photo ops about what badasses they are. well, some people have never been near a gun their whole lives let alone to hold one, fire it, under supervision.

Did some competition shooting in the mid 90s and i can tell you that stance is pure fucking cancer for anything with more of a kick than a .22. It's super relaxing which helps a lot controlling your breathing/heart rate but if you're shooting a .308 or even a 556 the recoil will give you trouble with putting accurate follow up shots on target under pressure.
