Hey k, I have a friend who will be putting his 1911 in storage for 5-6 months. He has the original box that he will store it in under his bed, should he put the gun in one of these too? Think it's worth the 8 bucks? Thanks.

If he makes sure the room isn't humid, puts a light coat of oil on the metal and tosses a desicant packet in there. He should be fine for 5-6 months.

Apply a liberal coat of Renaissance wax to the frame, and barrel.

Use a spary of barricade on internals, and bore.

Then if extra paranoid or if you live in a costal or muggy area, vacuum bag it with a fee desicant packs.
